Thurman’s ‘Motherhood’ is $132 bomb in U.K.
WENN—Uma Thurman’s new film “Motherhood” has epically flopped at the U.K. box office: The film only made $132 in its opening weekend.
Thurman plays a stressed mom who struggles to balance parenting and her career in the new movie, which only took in $60,000 in the United States when it opened last year.
But the response to the film was even worse in Britain, where only one person went to watch the movie on March 7, and the film only garnered an embarrassing $132 during the whole weekend.
And producer Jana Edelbaum can’t understand why the movie has bombed so badly, telling Britain’s The Guardian, “You’re kidding? We must have broken a new record for grosses!
“Think about how much crap succeeds at the cinema. ‘Motherhood’ is not bad. It’s a very decent movie. I’ve seen movies that are not half as good.”
Wow.

Dayum… that’s… Wow… $132 *gross*? That means like, maybe fifteen-odd people saw it. Wow. Just staggering.

And snuggle with Acci!

Yes, but would your book do better at the box office if it was made into a movie?
(I’m currently reading it, by the way. )

Yeah… This thread is the first time I’ve heard of the film.
I reckon, as Mr R said, that might have something to do with it.
(Not that it sounds like the kind of film I’d go to see anyway…)

Good marketing sells even bad movies, no marketing makes for no sales even if the movie is good, which I doubt.
