The snow finally stopped and the wind has died down considerably here, though there’s still no sign of the sun.  Maybe you’ll be getting a break from the fun and excitement of snow, Hulitoons.

The weather man is talking about the possibility of snow here (New Orleans) tonight.  My kids are keeping their fingers crossed in hopes of a snow day tomorrow but I would be happy without it.  We’re not really setup for snow down here.

The aftermath of our blizzard yesterday.  Around twelve inches in the DFW area, which is a record-breaker.

You say that with a wink Mouse, but literally a 30 minute drive to the west (just on the outskirts of Fort Worth) is where the cactus starts lining the roadsides.  While it’s not unheard of for us to get ice and even a bit of snow this late in February, we’re typically looking at less than two inches even at the best of times.  Many areas here got over a foot of snow yesterday, and we averaged about nine or ten inches in the middle of the yard.  Fortunately the ground never really got below freezing, so there’s not a layer of ice covering the roads beneath all of the snow and slush.  It will probably freeze tonight, but at least it’s the weekend now.  It will mostly all be gone by Sunday, too.  downer

I remember you being excited about getting a centimetre or so of snow last year (or the year before?).

We got our record amounts of snow last year, so I am not at all sorry we are not getting snow this year.  (Still a chance we’ll get some, but not anytime soon.)

And when I left for work today (about 10:30 am) the thermometer said it was 53F (12C) outside. cheese
