I can understand the family’s devastation at the man’s death by his own hand, and their fervent wish that somehow someone had ‘done away with’ him instead, but I find it hard to fathom why, after repeatedly finding the leads false, the police continued this line of inquiry.
When a psychic can dependably produce good info (on a regular basis) then the police should begin listening to them. (Or when there is some kind of supporting evidence, unlike in this case.)
I am glad the police are open to the possibilities, but a few more mundane tests (such as the autopsy) could have proven that the suppositions were incorrect.( Without the massive man hours spent.)
