With every start of a new century, people become nostalgic and tend to look back rather than ahead. Every turn of the century has had its technological revolution paired with some sort of renaissance. That, or the directors we ‘all know and love’ are going through a collective mid-life crisis. 
I know, I know. I just want to whack my head on the wall when I read people saying “Oh, this will be so realistic now!” Because it’s not supposed to be realistic, it’s supposed to be trippy and quirky.
But if they pull it off as well as the original, good for them. I do love a good remake. It’s just…the “good” part is what often causes the trouble…
