For those of us (not us here specifically) who have been long oppressed by the obvious Pagan/Christian/Pro-Holocause/Liberal/[insert offending name of group here] slant the regular Wikipedia’s got.

Makes me wonder how easy it is to set up these things.

In principle, quite easy. The necessary Wiki server software is open source. You just need to fill it up with text.

I think that Alex has or had a similar thing here about hoaxes, didn’t he?  Or did that get left behind on the wayside?

Alex had a bastardization of a Wiki?

I don’t know.  I thought it was a pretty good Wiki.

I have a feeling Alex put it on hold because it was a bigger task than he realised.  I just can’t recall where I saw that.

Aaah….Found it.  He’s merging it into a Hoax Archive.

Frankly, I was kind of offended they put WikiFur in the same catagory as white supremacists and other such wierdness.  Meh.

1: Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof. If it does what it says, you should have no problem with this.
2: What proof will you accept that you are wrong? You ask us to change our mind, but we cannot change yours?
3: If a conspiracy theory stopped at one claim, they might be believable. However, in the search for ‘truth’, conspiracies will expand their claims to encompass many other claims.

What part of ‘meow’ don’t you understand?

Yeah, neither that one nor the pagan one are really what I’d consider to be “Terrifying Bastardizations of the Wikipedia Model”.  As far as I can see, those two mainly just document all the whatnot from their two respective subcultures.  Which is basically just a more focused version of what Wikipedia does.  They’re not like the others on that list, which do things such as intentionally misinform or manipulate.

But then, the whole article seems to be more for entertainment than informative purposes itself.  Which is, I suppose, why the author concentrated on the sex-related aspect of WikiFur and ignored most of the rest.

Well, it is an article from cracked.com, after all.
I love the site because I find it funny, not because it has much informative value.

I know. Especially since they put Sweeney Todd as a bad movie with a misleading trailer.

I guess they felt they ought to have brought up the pagan wiki though to keep things fair (or at least as fair as an article like that could get). No idea why the furry one was brought in…
