Also, I don’t understand why people would want this as a pet.  It doesn’t fetch, it doesn’t learn to go on the paper - it’s pretty much useless.  Oh, unless you have a shoe or purse fetish.

Well, they are harmless, very playful pets Meag…........like Tazmanian Devils…...........and they are cool…..Chicks dig alligators anyway…...and they taste yummy…...

Most people want them as pets mainly because it’s rare and exotic. Plus they can brag about it. Then when it gets bigger and more dangerous, they just chuck them out to a random water resource like a lake or a pond and go: it’s not my business anymore, and walk off.
