Not surprising at all considering today’s pet market and the intelligence level of some people…

*whacks the little girl who wants to knock the poor thing out*
Some people are so irresponsible when it comes to raising pets, they see the animal is with the thrend, they buy it. They see the animal is cute, they buy it. Once it grows big or out of fashion, they are just abandoned.
It’s like raising a kid, then dumping them once they are no longer cute and cuddly. Irresponsible!

Well… I wouldn’t say it was quite that bad! But stupid never the less. Treating an animal badly cannot, at least should not, be considered comparable to treating your own offspring badly! In the end, they are after all, just pets, just animals, and if you consider those two values equal then I’m glad you’re not responsible for ensuring the propogation of our species!

Maybe for some they are JUST pets and JUST animals, but they are alive just like the rest of us and doesn’t deserved to be treated like a piece of lifeless toy.
Killing them to eat is one thing, making them suffer for fun or because we are irresponsible is another.
Kids, people, or animals, we should still respect and be kind to all of them. =)

I don’t think this was a pet.  If it were - it wouldn’t be so afraid of humans.  Even gators that AREN’T pets, but are around humans aren’t as skittish as this gator.  I’m thinking it accidentally got into the waterway, and can’t find it’s way out.

These animals aren’t native to the area at all. If it wasn’t someone’s “pet” then it’s an escaped “specimen” from some kind of animal park or something.

Um. . .I seem to be missing the reference to hitting the crocodile on the head. . .
