We always leave a decent tip. It is based a bit on how the service was too. If the person ignored us, or didnt keep drinks filled or was rude we tip less. We tend to be more generous to new people as well. We give them leeway if they mess up a bit. Its a confidence boost. Bottom line is, if you go to a place like that with a set amount of money, make sure you have enough left over to leave a decent tip.

Yeah, when I tip it’s based entirely on service. If the service is good, then they might get a 20% tip. If the service is utterly lousy, I have been known to give a one cent tip.

The waiter running out after you for a tip is clearly bad service.

To be honest tho, a 1 or 5 cent tip would be more insulting than no tip.
