Definitely fake, or rather, definitely NOT a meteorite strike.
Several giveaways. The most important one: average sized meteorites do not reach the ground incandescent. They are decelerated by atmospheric friction, untill they have lost most of their cosmic velocity at say 25-15 km altitude. At that point, they stop ablating and stop emmiting light. They enter a free fall. This is called the “Dark Flight” phase. When they reach earth surface, they are just cold dark stones travelling at speeds of about 200-300 meter/second.
For the same reason, there will be no fire on ground level. So the flaming debris seen in this movie is impossibe if it is a meteorite.
Cosmic bodies large enough to impacts at cosmic speeds, being incandescent, are very large. In that case, the people in the movie would not have survived, and there would have been a big crater, and/or big damage area due to the blast.
So this is some clever trick movie, but made by people who did not document themselves well.
Perhaps part of a SF movie or something.
