So.. I have the best story that goes along with this.
You know that horrible chain e-mail letter that talks about the freaky area code from the virgin islands, that if you call, you will be charged $1400? Well, if you don’t.. here is a preview..
You get a call from a number that is area code 809, they have you call back. Once you call back, they asses all these charges… Obvious urban legened.
Well, my boss forwarded me this e-mail and I thought it was just SOOO silly, so I had to mess with her.. I found a website that you can make a phone call appear like its from ANY number.. So I picked area code 809, followed by whatever number i thought a scam company would be calling from. And called her.
Of course she didn’t answer, and within 5 minutes, i got this e-mail..
“Just for your information. I just got a call on my cell phone coming from an 809 number. I did not pick up and deleted the number, so i will never know if I would have been charged $2425/min, but the call did come from Republic Dominican....so watch out and dont pick up if you don’t know the area code!!! Better safe than sorry, right!”
Bwahahaha, the address to the website is.. http://www.spoofcard.com/
