Coincidence, maybe?

Two New Zealanders had their prayers answered when their plane ran out of fuel mid-flight and was brought down next to a “Jesus is Lord” sign.

Grant Stubbs and Owen Wilson from Blenheim were flying in a microlight aircraft over Pelorus Sound, on New Zealand’s South Island, when the engine cut out.

“When you’re in a microlight if you crash, you usually die. I turned to O B (Mr Wilson) and he said we had no fuel,” Stubbs told the Marlborough Express.

“I asked what we should do. He said: ’You just pray Grant’.”

Stubbs said he prayed to God to get them over a ridge and find somewhere to land.

After bringing down the plane in a small grassy area, the men noticed they were beside a massive sign, about six metres high. On it was written “Jesus is Lord - The Bible”.

I don’t know about New Zealand, but ‘round these parts you’d be hard pressed not to crash land next to a ‘Jesus’ sign.

Be funnier if they crashed near a “McDonalds next 5KM!“ sign…

It’s because it was (I assume) on the front page of the ‘offbeat news’ section, and has now been replaced by another story.
The pilot story is here.
