For Earth - 30 July 2007 11:54 AM

I instantly recognized that the product was tried and proven.  Otherwise why would a publicly traded company, the second largest waste management in the U.S. go on the record and state that they saved 34 million dollars in fuel costs over a 6 year period?  And why would the City of San Diego award that publicly traded company an Earth Day Award for reducing emissions?

Wow. You INSTANTLY recognized that the product was tried AND proven? (you must be VERY good indeed [rolling eyes]!) You also ask “Why would a publicly traded company go on record and state that they saved 34 million dollars…“?

Let me start with the company making the statement. The PERSON making the statement is Jerry Schnitzius… a MAJOR STOCKHOLDER of EEI. It is really quite simple… you, as the GM of Allied Waste, ensure the product is put in your vehicles. You, as a MAJOR STOCKHOLDER, reap dividends from the sale of product. What is so hard to understand about that? It is called “conflict of interest”. If you weren’t blinded by the lies these people have fed you, I’m sure you would be able to see that.

Yes, Mr. Schnitzius is a major stockholder in the company, but no longer a manager of Allied Waste.  I should think you might do your homework a bit better.  Also, there are no dividends.  The stock is currently listed as .90, with a -2.38 earnings/share, -306.56 return on equity.  Investment in stocks is a gamble at best.  I’m sure every stockholder who bought shares of Ethos is well aware of this.

Why attack the credibility of someone you don’t even know?  Allied was using the product three years prior to this gentleman becoming a major stockholder.  Further, it was this gentleman’s personal choice to invest in the company, independent of Allied Waste.  Additionally, you cannot verify any of the accusations your making, all of which are slanderous and libel.  You’ve made a point of making the same comments all over the Net on sites for the past year, which leads the reader to question your motives.

Why not admit you have personal ax to grind?  It’s that simple.

Have a good day.

I have made many posts over the internet. I, along with other people, made the decision to alert people to the problems we saw and personally experienced with Ethos FR. No, I don’t know Jerry Schnitzius… when I was part of the 4-E opportunity, FROM A DISTRIBUTOR’S vantage point, he was one of the largest credibility factors FOR ME. I had no idea he was a stockholder in the company. I felt very betrayed when I discovered he was because he was not just simply someone who used the product and loved it. I felt he had a personal stake in it and even if he discovered thing about it that were unethical, he had invested money in it and would not have blown the whistle. Just so you have a look into things from my perspective.

However, these things aside, I have made a decision, based on a recent series of e-mails between myself and someone I have found respect for, to let this thing go.

Have a great day.

I saw some references to adding sugar to gasoline. The old story about ruining an automobile engine with the addition of sugar to the fuel tank is misinformation. Sugar does not dissolve in gasoline. Problems could be caused by sugar granules, but filtration will generally keep solid particles from entering the fuel delivery system. Large amount of sugar could theoretically clog the filters and result in a need to remove/flush the tank and replace the filters.

Basically, sugar would act like most other solid foreign particles and cause fuel delivery problems. But it won’t dissolve and gum-up an engine.

Much better to use moth balls. But in any case, the last post for this was over six months ago, so please, no necroposting.

I Found Museum of Hoaxes today while attempting to find some information on an e-mail that I received about a gasoline additive, Ethos. It looked like a hoax and I was searching for some confirmation. Information on Museum of Hoaxes and other sites confirmed my suspicion. However, I thought it odd that a site labeled Museum of Hoaxes would contain uncorrected information about sugar and gasoline.

Sorry, I thought this was a serious site. I understand, now,the need to pay attention to post dates and let the dead posts decay in stu.  Unfortunately, I spend too much time trying to correct misinformation I am sent or come across. Thank you for the redirection. I will not post again.

CConsuegra, there’s really nothing wrong with “necroposting” as long as you are adding new, accurate and on-topic information to the thread.  Which you seem to be wanting to do.  Unfortunately, if push came to shove, I would classify this as necroposting because sugar in a gas tank is generally off topic.  It might have been mentioned in the thread and it might have been mis-information, but it is not a “fuel additive” and not a large part of the conversation so doesn’t really have much to do with the topic at hand.

But don’t let the reaction spoil your impression of the forum, please.  Honestly, Robin was trying to do a service by informing, not to chastise just to chastise.  Unfortunately, we do get a lot of necroposting around here and rarely because the person has anything new or informative to add.

If you do stick around, welcome to the forum.  Please feel free post and reply.  But if you reply in an older thread please make sure it is new, informative and on-topic.  If you’re not sure please feel free to send a PM to ask someone or just start a new topic starting a new discussion.  (If the Moderators feel it is closely related to an older topic it will be merged onto that topic, no harm done.)  Thank you. smile
