Cool I may need some of these.
Last month I balled up newspaper sheets one at a time, and filled up a guy at works truck from floor boards to roof. This last week I used packing peanuts. I just can’t believe he keeps leaving his windows rolled down.
Lets see, I made a whole bunch of voodoo dolls of the boss and hung them from our office ceiling in all manners of torture. He thinks someone is always poking pins into him, so we were just showing him somebody was. Today I left a hamburger patty on his key board, with cheese and everything. Plus I rearranged all the keys.
I Vaselined all phones and desk drawer bottoms, and put paper in the gas tank doors so when they open them they think someone has done something.
I shut the water off for their toilet and they thought it was broke for a week.
Now they are working so hard to get me back it’s funny. They really do try, but they think that I have to plan these things.
I’m just getting them back for the 30 pound carp they put in my toilet last year.

There is of course a fine line between ‘harmless prank that may be enjoyed by the victim’ and ‘cruel trick’, or even ‘harassment’. Optimally, a good prank should be reversible within ten to fifteen minutes, and should not require any serious conversations with the boss and/or police. If the target laughs until they pass out, it’s a good sign.

I found out once that a friend of mine has a heart condition *after* setting off a loud explosive surprise for them - one of those little ‘toilet seat’ cap-snap devices, placed under his book. Thankfully, he didn’t keel over and die.

I’ve not done anything workplace-prankish, though I did wear a silly hat this last april fool’s.

My favorite prank is to tape newspaper over someone’s door in the middle of the night. When they go out the next morning, they are confronted by yesterday’s news. I have also successfully ‘forked’ a friend’s lawn. Get a bunch of plastic forks, and place all over the lawn, tines in the ground. it’s good for a great ‘WTF?’. They’ve never really determined it was me to their satisfaction.

RB, that was brilliant, may I borrow the fork idea?
Update from my prank yesterday, the keyboard came flying down the stairs, followed a short time later by the boss man himself and he proceeded to pour a whole cup of coffee on my wireless, cream and sugar - 8 scoops. He insisted the burger messed up his keys, That they wern’t where they were supposed to be, snicker snicker. My horns are a glowin’

According to Mythbusters, the shaving cream one doesn’t work that well.

I think because the foam dissolves almost as quickly as it thaws, so there’s not really that much expansion of the foam.  But that’s just my personal theory.  They tried it out, putting the frozen bits in a car and just got a puddle of weak looking shaving cream in the seat.

Well shaving foam would indeed expand incredibly, but it’d melt pretty soon. I think you’d have to find it when it reached its peak.
