I’m about half of the way through, and I’m enjoying it. It’s wonderfully personable.

Me, too!  I’ll be adding it to my Wishlist, so I may not be getting it right away.  But whenever I do I’ll report my findings here. smile

A book review!  Wheeeeee!

Ahem.  So, I just finished reading London Wild, by Mr. V.E. Shearman.  My overall rating of it?  It’s a good book!

Granted, any persnickety punctilious punctuation-parsers out there (not that we have any such people on this Forum) who read this might suffer the occasional minor aneurysm, as the edition of the book I read could do with a bit more editing.  There is the occasional roaming apostrophe, interesting homophone usage, or even place where a sentence suddenly.  Ends and then picks up after a full stop.  A couple of times I was jarred out of the story and into confusion by such things happening.

But that’s just grammar.  That’s not the story itself.  If you can look beyond that, then you’re in for some fun.  The storyline is fairly complex, consisting of numerous sub-plots that sort of weave back and forth and sometimes overlap.  In spite of this complexity, though, Shearman manages to make each character into an actual character, rather than leaving them as being simply names in a book.  He manages to give them personalities of their own.  The overall storyline itself is also quite well thought-out and intriguing.  You may hit the occasional rough paragraph, but overall the author does an excellent job of moving the story along and keeping things interesting and plausible.

All in all, it’s a book well worth reading.  And I’m now waiting for the sequel to come out!
