If one of you guys wanted to try the US kind, I suppose it might be possible to ship out a small jar of the stuff.  We had to do that for my brother who lives in Sweden.  He said that PB and a few other staples like vanilla extract (seems they use vanilla sugar in their recipies there) were hard to come by. (And expensive beyond words.)

I read somewhere that you can make vanilla sugar by putting a vanilla pod(?) in a jar of sugar and leaving it for a while. I’ve never tried it, though.

(...sitting in corner facing the wall...)

(...stands up and walks toward the forum, hands clasped together in front of his body, head down...) downer

“Ahem!” gulp

(...Looks up, not focusing eyes on anything in particular...) gulp

.
“I have been informed that yes, she does catch my toad! Yes she does try! And if there are any problems with my amphibian, it is my fault!” gulp
.
(...goes back and sits back down in the corner facing the wall...) downer

I think I may have to kill this man.  I am not kidding.  hmmm

Seriously, though, I think the reason we get along so well is because we’re both just a bit childish....lol

I do that whenever I have a used up vanilla pod after baking. It works really well.
