Keep in mind that the cycle in question has already recycled three times since around 3114 BC. So what will happen in 2012 AD already happened around 1832 BC, 551 BC, and 730 AD, and again around 3293 AD. I don’t see much sign of the world having ended on any of those three previous dates. Or of anything happening on those dates that is even all that unusually significant. The Mayans (and other groups who used the same calendar) didn’t have 2012 AD being any more significant than the endings of the last three cycles, other than the fact that it happens to be the end of the current cycle.
I am thinking that it is a slight possibility that the sun will rise in the East and set in the West; My daughter will be firmly ensconced in the 8th grade. Politicians will lie to us, Gas will cost too much; and there will be someone who says they mixed up the numbers on the prophecies....I can hear them now: “OH NO! It was supposed to happen in the year of the gutter rat, 2021!”
