Here’s one of the best pieces of anti-propoganda I’ve seen in a while!

I found this in a Cafe Mom group. It seems well researched. Click on the blue paragraph headers to go directly to the supporting article.

Here ya go:

Smoking lowers Parkinson’s disease risk - More evidence that smoking fights Parkinson - “A new study adds to the previously reported evidence that cigarette smoking protects against Parkinson’s disease. Specifically, the new research shows a temporal relationship between smoking and reduced risk of Parkinson’s disease

Impact of Smoking on Clinical and Angiographic Restenosis After Percutaneous Coronary Intervention – This large study shows yet another benefit of smoking. This time the benefit concerns restenosis, that is, the occlusion of coronary arteries. Smokers have much better chances to survive, heal and do well. Where is the press? Nowhere to be found, of course; we are talking about a significant positive about tobacco and smoking, which affects the health of people, don’t we…

Here’s the article!

Well, Minus the nicotine, Smoking CAN be slighty pro. But Everyone does anti- smoking becuase the main form of “Ciggys” have increased nicotine.

All deoends what you are smoking, how often, and if it is addictive or not…

I love my habit, but I’ve been dying to find all natural smokes.
Have not been able to find any around here for ages :-(
I’d be able to kick this habit if it wasn’t for the commercial smokes here. But untill I can find someone to supply me with them, I am kinda in the dust. I have not seen thoes natural smokes since I started smoking them.
I guess the ciggy companys even get their strangle-hold on the whole matter before one even starts smoking.
I love smoking, but I could cut my habit a lot if I could find them so called natural cigs’.

Yes. Tobacco and nicotine *DO* have health benefits. If memory serves, cigs are one of the better medications for specific types of bowel fluctuations. Addictive, and with health problems that go along with it, but that covers a LOT of other medicines, as well.

The main thing is though, that the *penalties* to one’s health far outweigh any *benefits*.

It’s like the old argument for not wearing seatbelts: ‘I don’t want to be trapped in a flaming car’. Sure, there’s a chance, but the chance that your seatbelt will save your life rather than kill you is about a thousand times more.

oh, and DJ? Try smoking a pipe, instead. It smells a lot better than cigs, forces you to slow down and take your time to enjoy it, and usually isn’t nearly so ‘corporate’.

I don’t see myself smoking a pipe while driving smile
Besides, any filter is better than no filter.

Just throw some tobacco leaves into your car’s fuel tank, then run a hose from the exhaust pipe up and in through the driver’s side window.  Yup.  That would work nicely.  That way you don’t even have to fumble around trying to hold a cigarette or pipe while you’re driving.

Pipes are pretty good. And snuff sales have been up 300% since the smoking ban came into force here last year.

Point. They do make pipe filters, though.
