You know… We could probably delete every webpage with ‘SYMBOL OF THE ANTICHRIST’ and ‘ALL-IMPORTANT’ and improve the internet immensely.

I find it offensive that this little troll is claiming that he and his cronies are those responible for the ending of the James Randi Challenge.

Main reason Randi’s discontinuing the challenge is that A: It’s become a major hassle. He’s sick and tired of people claiming he won’t pay the money, etc. B: He’s had NOBODY put forward a valid claim that’s willing to be tested under cientific conditions. You’d think there would be one or two people who might be self-deluded enough to think they could, but.. and C: He’s getting on in years, and probably would like to donate the money to some worthy cause.

By the way, can we move this to Conspiracies? This person obviously thinks that his ‘people’ had enough ‘power’ to force Randi to stop.

When I first saw this, that was my inclination.  But I didn’t get a chance to actually see the site linked and the “claim” at the time, so refrained from doing so.

Now that I have, I’ll agree that this deserves to be moved and do so.  If another Curator disagrees they can move it back I guess.

Wait.  He had total control?  But he lost control?

So if he lost control, how does he have the control to cancel it?

If it’s his challenge and his money that he was paying he would have the say in what criteria needs to be met in order to pay that money.

Would you be willing to put up your own money for the same type of thing, but leave it arbitrarily up to the challenger whether they passed the test and you had to pay them?

No, you wouldn’t.  You would want and have control over the challenge and what had to be done for you to pay your money.

And if you answer that as yes you would be willing to do that, then I suggest you start your own website, offer up that challenge and see how quickly someone claims your money.  You won’t have it very long, I promise.
