There is a large mixture of nationalities here.

And I would pick someone for President who knows how to capitalize, use punctuation and has a grasp of proper grammar.  But that’s just me. wink

For this forum?  Maybe because Forum Rule #5 asks you to?

No, it doesn’t require it.  But here are some other general reason that relate to this board, but are really more general for life overall.

1) Because you are taken considerably less seriously when you don’t.  Especially in a forum and/or on a topic where you would want to be taken seriously.

2) Because you don’t look very intelligent when you write like that.  Not that you’re not intelligent (I wouldn’t know), but that’s certainly not the impression you’re giving everyone here.  This also ties very closely with #1.

3) Because the people you want to read what you’re sharing won’t bother trying to read it or understand it.  And because of that they won’t bother replying.  You’ll get no feedback.  Eventually you will just be ignored and, well, see #1 above.

Adults tend to pay less attention to you when you do that.  Which might be the point, actually, but then you can hardly complain about not being taken seriously. wink

As for who *should* be the next president of the US?  Good question.  Not any of the people running, as far as I can see.  It looks like I’m voting for Obama, not because I really feel all that good about him but because, he’s the most tolerable option.

I’d vote Obama. My opinion doesn’t matter, because a) I’m not old enough and b) I’m Australian. But I’d vote Obama if I could.

I really don’t care much as I don’t trust any of them any more.  I think Jimmy Carter may have been the last president to actually care about the state of the country and the world, but basically being the leader of the US is all about personal power and ego orgasm.

That said, I’m sure it will be a democrat.  I think most Americans want the republicans out of here under any and all circumstances regardless of who the candidate may be.

I refuse to make a decision at this time. Our primary isn’t until next May (although like every other state we are talking about moving it to earlier in the year), so I see no point in getting attached now to somebody who might be trivia question—and a pretty darn obscure one at that—by May 2008.

You mean to see him get hit in the face by the remains of his two first terms?

I just hope for one thing in the next US president: diplomacy. Cause the previous batter has left him/her a cracked bat.
