A 53-year-old Guelph woman is dead after being hit by a VIA Rail passenger train.

It happened over the noon hour yesterday near Margaret Green Park.

Her husband watched helplessly as it happened.

Police say the woman had mobility problems which may have prevented her from getting out of the way.

Many use the trail as a short cut, despite the fact that there are no trespassing signs.

Anywho, how’s everyone?

Good morning, everybody. The good news is that it is a good morning—very pretty here, though it’s supposed to get kind of hot later—and I made it into the office this morning with no unpleasant incidents.

The bad news is that I had to come into the office this morning after being off for a week. There ought to be a law that everybody gets the morning after vacation off. And I am, of course, insanely behind.

But anyway, I’m here. Had a nice visit with my sister (both sisters, really—the one who lives here and the one who was visiting from California) and I also got to see my brother and his oldest son, which was great. We had SO much fun.

More later when I figure out just how behind I actually am!
