Okay, so it turns out that John from Cinncinnati is being shown up here as well. I found it under, um “HBO Titles” in our On Demand. Only three episodes so far, but I watched one last night and the other two just now.
I’m hooked!
I’m glad to see Ed O’Neil working again too. There was always something about him I rather liked, Al Bundy notwithstanding.
And the guy who plays John looks so much like an ex boyfriend of mine, I keep reading the credits just to reassure myself that it’s not really him
I didn’t really watch much of Deadwood, just a couple of episodes, but the dialogue between the three “hotel denizens” reminded me of it.
One thing that is kind of annoying is that some of the acting is really bad, especially the kid and to a lesser extent, Kai (if that’s how it is spelled). There were a couple moments watching scenes with the kid where I felt that maybe the poor acting was kind of on purpose, that maybe his detachment had some deeper meaning to the character, but I’m really not sure.
I’m waiting for a type of epiphany like I had when I saw Batman Begins. I think Christian Bale is uber-talented, but I was perplexed during some scenes in the movie because his acting seemed sort of strained. Then it hit me - DUH! Christian Bale isn’t a bad actor, Bruce Wayne is. He’s awkward in his role of playboy billionaire bachelor because that’s not really who he is!
Something tells me that ain’t gonna happen in this show though, ah well. I still really like it.
PS Rebecca DeMornay is looking rather rough ain’t she? Is that what dating Leonard Cohen does to you?
