What?

No mention of “Hot August Night” by Neil Diamond?

You heathens! May you all spend an eternity* rotting in hell

I’ll just put my Ben Folds Five CD back on.

Well, music is certainly personal!

I really love many of the songs mentioned above, by everyone, and have never heard many of them, also, I suppose they are album tracks that for one reason or another did not get much exposure.

‘Stairway To Heaven’ is oftem given credit for having the greatest guitar riff of all time, by the way.

And I happily observe that no one named anything by the greatest group of rock impostors that ever took the stage or played an instument, namely ‘The Who’.

There must be somewhat of listing and quantifying all these entries!

Perhaps, each member is given, say, ten votes to spend, and then each vote can be given out, one per song for ten entries, or ten votes all to one entry, or any variation of same, to total ten.

Then some good heart with too much time on their hands (where is Bible Dude when we need him?), or perhaps Yours Truly, will tally all these up, and then we have a list, and then vote from that list to choose winner, place, and show.

Dan, hoping this impresses Bebe, who he worships

oooo, I forgot Tom Waits, I was trying to figure out which song was my favourite but I ended up forgetting to put him on there at all! I really have a hard time narrowing it down to just one for him though.

I forgot Joy Division too

Rain, me and you have very similar tastes in music smile

I almost put Blitzkrieg Pop as my Ramones pick too, but I Don’t Want to Grow Up is my current favourite (they tend to rotate)

Well, “I Don’t Want to Grow Up” was a cover the Ramones did of a Tom Waits song, so you got it covered! wink I was going to put “Rain Dogs” for Tom Waits but that seemed a bit obvious, what with my name….

I listen to a huge variety of music. Since classic rock seemed to be covered by other posters, I went with my current and/or long time favorites. I’m on a big Nomeansno kick lately.

It’s nice to know that I’m not the only person with eclectic tastes in music. The guy at the music trade store loves to see me coming as I usually can’t get out of his store without buying something. Last time I was in, I bought a Tears for Fears greatest hits and a bluegrass compilation. He no longer askes me if I’m shopping for other people. wink HA!

Wow, there are so many good ones you guys caught?  How did I forget Police, or Bob Dylan, or Tears for Fears?

Anyways, anyone else like the NCAA style way to choose the best?  I’ll gladly put them all in a chart.

Oh, and don’t forget Oingo Boingo’s “No Spill Blood” and Talking Heads “Psycho Killer”
