According to the parents (who I saw on TV this morning), their daughter was duped into believing she was talking to a 16 yr old boy. After a short time, the “boy” changed his feelings about her and “he” along with several other myspacers started harassing the girl. It turns out, the “boy” was a family down the street who were trying to bait the girl into talking badly about their daughter. Apparently they had suspicions that the girl was already doing this.

About a couple of days ago, Indonesia’s cellphone users (later including Brunei) were shocked by such a terror via SMS. This terror, which later popular as “SMS Merah” or “Red SMS” or “Ring in Red” (in english) has surprisingly causing a physical attack that harmed its recipients. One of them is a man from West Sumatera, Indonesia which suddenly be unconscious after read this SMS via his mobile phone.

A group of people believe that this SMS was being sent by such black-magic wizard who just want to test his/her ability by using SMS as a medium. However, Indonesian police officer and most Indonesian, of course denied such mystical reason like this. They still considered this case as an issue in body health.

Here is the content of Ring in Red after being translated into english:

“To all beloved friends. If you receive a call with long numbers, such as +62852731520946, in red, do not pick it up, as there is currently a group of Indonesian students, who are also black magic practitioners, testing their power via handphones. Whoever answers the call will start to foam in the mouth and die shortly afterwards. In Indonesia, there are already nine deaths, and last night, two more died in Puchong. These incidents happened. Please forward this message…”)

I just read an entire forum on Perfect Water and only ONE person claimed to have actually drank the water. Does anybody else find this odd?
As an IBO allow me to give you my opinion: Oh wait… I don’t have one! Why is that? Because I’ve NEVER TRIED perfect water. (it’s not available until April)
How could I possibly give you an opinion on something I’ve never tried?

So, how about a forum for people who have actually tried Perfect Water and can offer their experiences.

IBO’s, this is not a place to advertise products!!!!! (personal experiences with perfect water only)

Skeptics, find an IBO, spend $1.99, (or talk them into a free sample) and give us your opinion.

If you drank perfect water and “were able to leap tall buildings in a single bound” then we want to hear from you.

If perfect water caused you to puke and go to the emergency room, then we want to hear from you.

If you couldn’t tell the difference between perfect water and tap water, then we want to hear from you.

If you have never tried perfect water, but would like to speculate on what you think may or may not be true concerning this product, then start another forum called:
Opinions and rhetoric but no real personal experience to draw from.

I think that’s fair

One other thing: This is not a forum to talk about how Quixtar or Amway has changed your life and made you a better person. On that same token nor is it a forum to talk about your bad experiences with either business. This is to discuss one product: Perfect Water

Thank you for your cooperation!

A Dutch political cartoonist was arrested this week on suspicion of insulting people because of their race or religion through his work, authorities said Friday.

The cartoonist, who works under the pseudonym Gregorius Nekschot, was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of violating hate speech laws and held overnight before being released, a spokeswoman for his publisher Uitgeverij Xtra said.

“He was arrested with a great show of force, by around 10 policemen,” the spokeswoman said.

She asked that her name not be used, and declined to give Nekschot’s real name, because the cartoonist and publisher have both received death threats.

Nekschot is known primarily for cartoons mocking Muslims and leftists, though the spokeswoman said he is a satirist who targets “any strong ideology.”

Amsterdam public prosecutor spokeswoman Sanne van Meteren said Nekschot remains a suspect in a criminal investigation.

“We suspect him of insulting people on the basis of their race or belief, and possibly also of inciting hate,” she said.

Each is a crime punishable by up to a year in prison under Dutch hate speech laws — or two years for multiple offenses.

Nekschot publishes primarily on several Web sites, including his own, but has also been featured on the Web site of Theo van Gogh, the filmmaker who was murdered by a Muslim radical in November 2004.

The cartoonist also works for HP/De Tijd, a major Dutch language weekly news magazine, and he has published two books.

One recent cartoon on his web site caricatured a Christian fundamentalist and Muslim fundamentalist as zombies who met at an anti-gay rally and now wished to marry.

Van Meteren said prosecutors were investigating a complaint that dated from 2005. They are now focusing on eight or nine published cartoons, she said, but prosecutors are not disclosing which ones.

Nekschot did not answer police questions during his arrest, she said, appealing to his right to remain silent to avoid self-incrimination.

The spokeswoman for Xtra said police had seized Nekschot’s computer, sketches, CDs, DVDs and telephone at the time of his arrest.

From the Daily Telegraph:

-

Meatwater: Is cheeseburger juice a big hoax?

How would you like a refreshing glass of Beef Stroganoff water? Or maybe some Peking Duck juice? Or a swig of fish and chips? Meatwater, a new line of flesh-flavoured bottled waters, has been “launched” on the internet, sparking debate among bloggers about whether it is a daring attempt to cash in on the rising popularity of enhanced health drinks, or an elaborate hoax. The drinks are being marketed as “High Efficiency Survival Beverages”, made of “only the finest protein – an organic compound composed of carbon, hydrogen, oxygen and nitrogen”.

The Meatwater website contains photos and descriptions of the all the flavours on offer - including the latest, Escargots Chantecleer – complete with branded bottles featuring the firm’s distinctive logo. Describing the taste of the Beef Jerky drink, it says: “The salty, savory flavor of this vitamin and mineral packed concoction will make you think we collected all that sweet, meaty juice just for you.”

Photos of Meatwater’s “launch” at a festival in Cannes, France in March are also included, along with plans to roll-out the brand to the rest of the world later this year. But British consumers hoping to cool themselves with a glass of Wiener Schnitzel water this summer may be disappointed. Bloggers have pointed out several anomalies on the website which suggest that Meatwater may be too absurd an idea to be true.

The last sentence is the one that really makes you think, though.

The Pope’s chief astronomer says that life on Mars cannot be ruled out.

Writing in the Vatican newspaper, the astronomer, Father Gabriel Funes, said intelligent beings created by God could exist in outer space.

Father Funes, director of the Vatican Observatory near Rome, is a respected scientist who collaborates with universities around the world.

The search for forms of extraterrestrial life, he says, does not contradict belief in God.

The official Vatican newspaper headlines his article ‘Aliens Are My Brother’.

‘Free from sin’

Just as there are multiple forms of life on earth, so there could exist intelligent beings in outer space created by God. And some aliens could even be free from original sin, he speculates.

Asked about the Catholic Church’s condemnation four centuries ago of the Italian inventor of the telescope, Galileo, Father Funes diplomatically says mistakes were made, but it is time to turn the page and look towards the future.

Science and religion need each other, and many astronomers believe in God, he assures readers.

To strengthen its scientific credentials, the Vatican is organising a conference next year to mark the 200th anniversary of the birth of the author of the Origin of Species, Charles Darwin.
