CHICAGO, Illinois (AP) -- A performance artist wearing safety harnesses jumped repeatedly from a museum roof to create photographs that recall scenes from the World Trade Center attack, but his spectacle was scorned by some onlookers and victims' relatives.
That is pretty sick. I remember when the real thing was happening I got really sick knowing that these people had to choose either burning to death or falling to there death. I think this guy just wants the publicity.
"I was so distraught, I needed some way to find an artistic response," he told the Chicago Sun-Times. Now, he says he sees falling as a metaphor for life.
"Mentally, physically and emotionally, from day to day, we fall. Even walking is falling: You take a step, fall and catch yourself," he said."
And what this tells me is that he's a pretentious idiot who makes up nonsensical comments to try to disguise the fact that what he's doing is in poor taste, and not very artistic.
If you have to make up bollocks like that, what you're doing is probably not worth looking at.
Hate to say it Boo, I've had the walking is a controlled fall quoted at me, too. Think about it though...we don't all walk around by placing a foot on the ground, then transferring the weight across. We place foot and weight on the ground at the same time, trusting that the ground is firm enough to take our weight...
(Sorry, the internal tai chi instructor needs to be squashed now.)
Hey Smerk. I don't disagree with the walking thing, although I think it is a gross simplification.
It's the intense pompousity of the rest of the quote(s) that lead me to believe he's a pretentious idiot. I've been around these people enough to recognise it when it rears its ugly head.

I just looked at the poll results. At least 77% of people have sanity.
