Actually, I've seen some real ones advertised that you put under your pillow and supposedly wake you up by vibrating.

My buddy has a zen alarm clock - it chimes softly at intervals starting about 1/2 hr or so before he has to wake up. The chimes get a little closer together over time, till it is chiming constantly. Supposedly it is supposed to better for you as it lets you come out of your sleep more naturally.

I always thought that blaring buzz had to be bad for you.

Mmm...sleeeeep, quiet, dark...ALARM ALARM ALARM!

Snooze alarms are the tool of Satan, I'm pretty sure. I've offered to feed them to their owners, twice.

I take the gentle route, and just have it turn on my radio. Then again, the morning DJs on my favorite station while growing up were Jack Daniels and Tom Collins (their real names big surprise ). When I grew up and found out about the drinks, my first thought was "alcoholic drinks named after DJs?" I wonder how long they had to search to find guys who really had those names...

I used to love Jack Daniels and Tom Collins on KSQY in Deadwood South Dakota. I think they moved to Belle Fouche.
