O.k. gang, I just had a stationary salesman come in and while chatting he starts going on about a film called What the Bleep do we Know (other than I've never heard of it) There's also a web site http://www.whatthebleep.com The way he goes on it's life changing! A must see!
Well, a quick look at the site and there's mention of Ramtha and various other characters so I'm immediatley suspiscious.
Has any one heard of this movie?

Haven't seen it, hadn't heard of it, but it is at amazon @ : what the bleep...?
Ohhhh, just realized. Ramtha....that name clicked it for me. There is a real lady (J.Z. Knight)who claims she channels an entity. Charges insane amounts of money and is big with a few hollywood types. Check out: sceptic.com's view on her

Thanks Winona,
At the end of the sceptic's article there's a review of the movie,
it sounds like J.Z. Knight has taken a page out of scientology's methodology; promoting crackpot ideas as scientifically legitimate. I'm suprised that the fellow who told me about it, and I've known him for years, seems so level headed...
In the words of one of my favourite folk singers, Greg Brown, Whoda thunk it!

You know what's funny? I always sound like the biggest sceptic in the world on here, but I actually do have a lot of non mainstream spiritual beliefs. But, on the other hand, I take *everything* with a grain of salt and a healthy dash of research. :-D
We were in MovieGallery on Saturday renting movies to watch and this movie was on the shelves there available to rent. It looked so stupid from the title and cover though that we didn't even pick it up to read about. I have no clue what the story or plot is about, but I have seen it available for rent.
Hi Padeago, You have probably seen the movie by now, but I've heard heaps & heaps about this movie from many who have seen it. All have had pretty awesome things to say about it! I am trying to get to see it myself (need to get my girls looked after so I can)as it has only just recently come out in theaters here. Will let you know my thoughts after I have seen it for myself.
From what I gather this is an attempt to legitimize Ramtha's (and others of her ilk) so called teachings, using vague scientific theory by obscure or controversial "experts" touching on quantum physics, string theory etc.. If this sounds familiar its because Scientology uses the same format. Like Maeg, I've no reason to see it, having read both pro and con on the web.
Mich, by all means go see it but keep a critical mind and a sceptical eye, above all remember who's responsible for most of the financing of the movie, Ramtha. I would also suggest you read up on Scientology, you'll find a very similar approach...

For the skinny on this nonsense, see the movie review of it on the CSICOP website:
It has some more detailed info than the other one.

I started watching this movie about 15 minutes into it and soon flashbacks to the time I took the L.Ron Hubbard tour in Hollywood started to come back to me. This movie uses scientology buzz phrases like "The reactive mind." Also, I thought that blond woman was the author of the "Happy Hooker" but no, it turns out that's that crazy cult-channeler Ramtha explaining the connection between brain chemicals and erections. The film-makers use just enough scientific jargon to keep you interested, but then I became leary after too many suspicious displays of blessed/unblessed water molecules began to appear on screen.
The second link posted by HiEv captured my impressions exactly.
My head aches from forcing myself to sit through the entire waste.
I STRONGLY suspect that this is part of the Bergism / Kaballah cult that mocks logic and reason while substituting persuasive promotional hype for the vulnerable sheople who follow.
