Ghost Picture

I was looking through the user-submitted "ghost" pictures at about.com.

Among the many, many, many pictures of camera straps, smoke, fog, "orbs", and other easily explainable stuff, I found this.

What do YOU think?

Try as I might, I could NOT find the one where some guy had photoshopped Freddy Krueger in.

Maybe they finally noticed it.

Um. You're joking, right? Please tell me you're joking. I think my sense of humor is a bit off today...

What do you see when you look closely?

Ignore the part that's circled.

I don't see anything paranormal, just some random fuzziness/blurriness.

*pulls out Rorschach test*

So tell me, Rod, what do YOU see in this picture?

Well, there's a few things. The most prominent being almost dead (hehe) centre.

Look between the big red circled area and the closest small circled area. See it?

You can't see all of the other things that well, but keep looking, they're there.

Oh my God, I'm not going to play Where's Waldo. What do you feel is in this picture? Ghosts, I suppose? I can see how some of the fuzziness might be interpreted as faces, but I also think the mind sees what it wants to see...

Well, lets start on the left side. There's a guy standing there, looks like maybe he's holding a coffee cup. There's another guy I can't identify just right of centre.

But the kicker? The guy in the middle is Vincent Price.

This guy made this just to screw with the about.com guys, I guess.

Ghosts? Yeah right.

Semi-transparent photoshop images.

And so vague, why did they bother?

I think they just did it because they thought it would be funny if nobody noticed, otherwise wouldn't they have circled the people, too?

I wish the one with Freddy Krueger standing on the porch was still on there though... THAT one has hilarious.

There are quite a few people on there that, when you read their description, you can't really tell if they're still sane. (Ha! Used every their variant in that sentence!)
Like the girl who took a picture of her cat, and when the eyeshine created by the flash was apparent in the picture, she took it as evidence that her house is haunted.

Somebody probably thought it would be fun to screw with people like that...
I don't entirely disagree.

It's funny how this type of ghost pic always has the effect centered in the middle of the pic, regardless of where people or objects being photographed are. Then they say "I had no idea till I got the film developed". wink

Yeah, it's pretty rare to find somebody's ghost picture where they only caught a shoulder or the top of a head or something.

I quess people think when they're making it that if you can see more of it, it will be more convincing.

What the? I didn't see anything but a fat guy (he was kinda hard to miss). This is the work of people who have too much free time on their hands.

It looks like whoever took the picture planned it all out. Why else would that guy be all the way to the right?
