A few years ago i got an email with pictures that showed sharks near the
beach and swimmers and i was wondering if anyone knows where to find them or
if they were a hoax i would appreciate it! thanks
While this is a really cool picture, it isnt the one i was thinking of, the one i am thinking of is straight down and you can just see the outlines of the shark (although they may be dolphins)... i cant find them anywhere!
There's another, similar, photo on snopes.com
It shows one swimmer next to a silhouette of a dolphin (the image was passed around labelled as a shark pic).
Sadly, because I am at work, and the super-spiffy new computers have been installed, it counts as an inappropriate page, so I can't link to it (Sharks? I mean it's not even blimmin' gory!).
However, if you search using 'shark' at snopes.com, it's one of the results.
Sorry I can't be of more help.
Ha, thanks Myst.
I even clicked on the link (I am an idiot).

Delray Beach recently had a shark swarm...here are some pictures from this year, but I'm sure there were pictures other years. Delray Shark Swarm, Pic 9/23
In Pensacola Beach, FL where we vacation ALL the time you can always find the bull sharks at usually what most people would consider VERY near the beach. EVERY year between March and October the bull sharks are there and can usually be found within 100 to 200 yards of the shoreline which is usually filled with unsuspecting swimmers! We see them all the time as we sail the area a lot!!!

I don't remember exactly what the statistics are, but they're something like this: on average, a good-sized shark will swim within a few yards of you every fifteen minutes when you're swimming in the ocean. Mostly, though, they just take one look at you and say, "Yuck, a human!" and swim away. I've accidentally stepped on or kicked sharks quite a few times, and none of them ever appeared to take it personally.

Wow everyone has been so helpful but those still arent the pictures (although that last picture posting has some AMAZING pictures!), the picture just pretty much has the shadows of the sharks and you can see the people right next to them (which always lead me to wonder why the photographer never warned them)
thanks though for all your help so far!

I do believe they are real. I got them in an email though a while ago, so it is possible they arent. But i am pretty sure they are. Sorry that probably didnt help!

I am looking for the missing sharks photo too. We were in Clearwater beach today and all the surfers were telling me to google for it, but I cannot find the photo. It is an areal photo (from above) and there are swimmers and sharks mixed near each other. None of these photos of the waves or porpoises are the photo I am looking for either...keep posting!
