Dammit! We covered this a year ago. Alex is dead and has been replaced with a replicant. It seems the thread has been removed, though. I guess Repli-Alex is trying to cover his tracks. Raoul would know but, as you can see above, Repli-Alex won't let him on the site anymore.

I think that the real Alex was held prisoner by nessie, then the replicant came to take over the site. After several months Alex found a way to escape (possibly with the help or neurocam agents). after which he killed the replicant a returned to the site.
