Yup, too deep of thinking will destroy your mind when coupled with this evil little thingy. I wonder if the Prof is dead, and if so, whether or not his demise had anything to do with this game and several hundred disgruntled students.
It took me 3 days, total time spent on it about 2.5 hours first day, 2 hours second, then about 1.5 MINUTES on the third. Just depends on your state of mind when you look at it, I guess. (Before the drug jokes come in, I was actually smokin pot on the third day, but not the first two. And they say it doesn't help creativity!)
Oh, and I purposely avoided reading any comments on this until I had it figured out. |

I actually had this figured out by my 4th role. I was quite disappointed. I must be a total moron or something. Are you going to eat that glue? |

WHY IS THAT PEOPLE ALWAYS SAY THAT THEY ARE GOING TO TAKE A DUMP, WHEN REALLY, THEY ARE LEAVING IT. My only advice, if someone is obviosly threatening to hurt you and it looks like they can, shit in your hand and tell them that you are going to throw it at them. I bet they will leave you alone. |

I can see the headline progression from this one...
"Man Driven Insane By Stupid Dice Game"
"The Dice Game: Are You Stupid?"
"The Dice Game: A Communist Plot To Occupy Our Time?"
"Doctors Warn About TDG Syndrome"
"TDG: Thousands Hospitalized For Psychosis"
"TDG: U.S. Crippled By Losses Of Its Greatest Minds"
"TDG: Will Civilization Fail?"
"THDWBNJLKKML:LKJYITUIYLKJK FREAKIN GAME!!!"
And then nothing, until, wafting in on the breeze comes "The Alien Times: Serving The Greys Since .00687", with a headline reading
"Dice Game Ploy Successful" |

Since no one has posted how it works...I just assume no one REALLY knows how to do it.

"It's a one trick horse. 5's are worth 4, 3's 2. End of story." - ProjectMayhem
This was like, the third or fourth post.
Of course, until you realize what it means, it's almost as cryptic as the game. |

You ruined the game, Charybdis. You should have made them suffer more for the answer. I was getting a sadistic kick out of watching the ongoing mental anguish on exhibit. |

Here's a thought... I wonder how much longer it would have taken people if the dice were placed next to each other foming a plus sign...
THAT would REALLY screw your mind. |

know what would really screw with your mind..
flashing colors while trying to figure out the petals.
as if the "game" itself isn't hard, trying to fight off the urge to seizure adds a little extra challenge. |

Well, now I feel really idiotic. Aren't there any other really literal-minded people out there who can't get past the fact that this thing has NOTHING WHATSOEVER TO DO WITH ROSES??? Arghhh. |

Did you solve it yet, Katherine? Because it does have to do with roses, if you consider the shape/principle. |

Yar, I know how to look in a dictionary--but as I've said, my mind is distressingly literal. When it says "How many petals are around the rose?", my natural response is, "WHAT rose?" I don't know...somehow it unnerves me to be messing around with hypothetical roses. Couldn't they put up a nice photograph of a rose or something so that you know what you're working with? (It would have to be really grainy or blurry or something, though, so that idjits wouldn't be tempted to actually try and count the petals on it...) |

Yes, I SAW the post. But it isn't completely accurate. 5 isn't WORTH 4, it HAS 4...So when I returned to the site after reading that, I applied the same logic to the rest of the di. It wasn't working. Charybdis' post gave me my answer...now I know that at least ONE person knew it, and wasn't just saying they did to be part of the crowd. |
