I was wondering if anyone has tried this "game".
It's called petals around the rose, and it's quite interesting.
Supposedly, the longer it takes you to figure it out, the smarter you are.
I figured out the solution rather quickly, i guess i'm just not smart.
give it a whirl

Well, as I have allways thought, I am above everyone else, so it occurs to me that I will never understand a problem only a feable mind can understand. |

Ooooook, after 4 hours, I now have a headache, but I finally figured it out. HOW in the world did some of you figure that out in a matter of min.??? That is crazy!!!!! How could someone "assume" that is how it worked only after a couple of rolls???? It took me 50-60 rolls!, just a process of elimination. This was NOT worth the headache. Your all nuts!!!! HOW CAN THIS JUDGE A PERSONS INTELLIGENCE??? I also wander if a higher % of females where able to get this quick because of the "Rose" thing. Sorry, I'm just kinda upset that I spent that long on this "thing". Kinda aggrivated. |

The nice people in white gave me a pretty jacket, but I can no longer see my hands. They said I am going to the "Enchanted Kingdom" to play with the magical creatures that live among the flowers. The room is high and bright, where is the salt??? |

Experiencing a few problems, Stephen? Glad to see you seem to have got them sorted out. Maybe your new room in the Enchanted Kingdom will be decorated with rose-petal wallpaper. |

Ok, so I went back today after reading stephen's post mentioning females and the "rose" thing. After reading that I knew exactly what it was and went back and was right. Of course, it took me like 3 days... |

I couldn't get it until I thought about the name and wondered if that was significant. Then it was easy. |

The only way I got it is when I couldn't think anymore and the world seemed like it was going to end. Right before I passed out, I looked up. BAM!!!! There it was in all it's evil glory. |

Sounds like how it worked for me, only it took longer, seeing as I'm one of the... what was it?... "Educationally Challenged".
But you know, it wasn't worth the time I spent on it either. |

I tried to get the girl at home to do the test. she tried for 15 min. and now she wants nothing to do with it. Actually put her in bad mood, witch didn't help me out later on. That game is evil. I want to take that game that SATAN made himself, grab it, twist it,rip, tear, stomp, bite, curse.....oh DAMNED. Maybe I will just give that thing to Paul. He deserves it. |

I once played a drinking game in college called 'up-down', or something like that. Only played it once, so I can't remember the exact details, but the basic premise was that everyone had to try to solve a puzzle. The possible answers were up-up, up-down, or down-down. If you got it wrong, you had to drink. The correct answer had to do with whether the guy who came up with the riddle had his hands up or down. A few people were never able to work it out. |

O.K. here's my 2 cents worth,
I had this figured out within 4 throws, I'm a goldsmith and designer, My 16 year old daughter, much like her dad, has it figured out in 2 throws, my wife, math wiz, former banker, dosn't get it, thinks it stupid and goes to get a glass of wine, my son, first year mechanical engineering course, last seen with pencil and paper deep in thought...
Conclusion:
Its not a matter of how smart you are as to how you see problems such as this, we arty types look at this much more figuratively where as math types are looking for a problem where one may not exist.
That there is my theory and I'm sticking to it. |
