I came across this link and just couldn't swallow it.

Now, I'm an Aussie and we're not very patriotic down here in the arse end of the world. In fact we're usually the first ones to make a joke about ourselves. So I had a hard time believing that you guys in the US would take this seriously as well. But that could just be me. But come on. Would you order an icecream called Navy Battle Chip or Rush Mallow? Would you like your I Hate French Vanilla in a waffle cone Sir?

I think it would be great though if Alex started his own icecream chain. We could enjoy Jackalope Jaffa on a hot day. Or maybe a Sydney Iceberg Sorbet? Bigfoot Banana is good too but my favourite flavour is Mary Toft's Rabbit Sundae.

Enjoy!

I like this Museum of Hoaxes ice cream chain idea. What about Milli Vanilla? Loch Ness Monster Marshmallow? or Crop Circle Cookie Dough?

It looks like something that started out as a joke. I love living in the U.S. People that do this stuff are the equivalent to cheer leaders at a PeP Rally in High School, Entertaining to watch, but it's not going to get everyone excited about the game. But it is also an easy way to make money. People that allways have Flags all over their cars and I Love the U.S. stickers all over everything are the political equivalent to Bible Thumpers, Jesus Freaks, and Holy Rollers. All they want to do is advertise that they support the U.S. but it gets really cheesy at times.

Nope, Star Spangled Ice Cream is for real. They sell it at our local 7-11 and when I lived in Newport News they carried it at the grocery store. The flavors' names are done for humor, of course. But a percentage of every bit of ice cream sold goes to organizations supporting the troops and veterans.
