Make a purse out of your cat
Posted By:

Someone posted this in a cat lover's community on LiveJournal recently. At
first it struck me as something of the 'bonsai kitten' variety, but the
pictures were much more disturbing. I couldn't help but wonder if this girl
is actually that sick and twisted...

Warning. Potentially offensive and gross (edited by Charybdis )

I think it's fake judging by the little bit she wrote about it on her home page. She sounds like one of those artists who's "art" is more social commentary. Perhaps she's trying to promote vegitarianism? Read the bit on her home page about it. It seems meant to be ironic.

This is very disturbing! It doesn't look like a hoax to me. Those pictures look real. At first I thought it was a joke, you know, like that book "101 things to do with a dead cat" until I scrolled down and looked at the pictures. This is so sick! Do you think she killed the cat or was it dead already?
I'm very upset right now. sick

That Tinkerball site is very weird. What the hell is it anyway?? Is it some kind of art thing? I don't get it. Can someone explain?

I was really hoping that, at the very least, her cat was already dead when she decided to do this. Then I read the second link.

"Then I saw this man on tv who had the same problem with his cow 'Betsie' and he decided to kill her and make really nice fashionable shoes from Betsie. He looked sooo handsome with Betsie on his feet! After watching this program I immediately cut Pinkeltje's head off and made myself a purse. She's always with me now!"

While doing a search to come up with some kind of information on Tinkerbell I found another site which made me blink. OK, it made me do more than blink, I love animals and some of these people really get my dander up. Unfortunately there are a lot of people out there who don't share my views on animals.

I must say, this site looks pretty convincing. This chick just seems that messed up. I love the whole "i think 18+ is a good time for a girl to do a lil soft porn" weird girl man, some people shouldn't be allowed to have websites.

No more demented then what is done in your local slaughterhouse. And as for amy's taxitdermy, she notes that the cats were already dead anyways.

That's right, Citizen Premier, and thats why I think it's meant as some sort of social commentary.

All I have to say is, "you can have my beef when you pry it from my warm, chubby fingers!"

The wife's skinned countless rabbits that way. What makes a cat so different?

The link on her website under "articles" is to the Dutch society for the prevention of cruelty to animals. There's a chapter on her there (in Dutch). It says that she is a (Dutch) artist, Katinka Simonse. It says the cats were already dead before she turns them into art. They condemn her art, hhave asked her to stop it, which she won't

If the cats are already dead then it's OK by me. Damn weird and extremely yucky but OK.

The cat for purse thing must be a hoax, she just seem too "off the topic" for it to be real. The pictures probably are tho, but I dobt she's sick enough to actually behead her cat because of some story about a cow...
The taxidermy site looks real too, lots of ppl want their pets to "stay" after they die.
It seems to be another bonsai kitten thing, "People think their pets are posessions"
not really inventive, but ok, she's young...

i called the girl i was so apalled and wanted to know why she did what she did.

she is so demented, a true sociopath i think.

her tone of voice was so apathetic, and she showed no emotion while talking to me. she didn't get annoyed or irritated one bit when i asked her why and how she killed her cat and posted that sick page.

she agreed when i said she just wanted attention.

she said she "broke the cats neck."

she said she did it because it was "driving her crazy with its scratching to get out."

anyway her number is 011 31 6........

she kept on defiantly saying it was legal to kill her cat there in amsterdam and there is nothing anyone can do about it.

she was proud of the site and how many people have looked at it.

she told me she's gotten thousands of hits, and just as many emails.

shes sick and starved for attention.

i'm scared for her three other cats she told me about.

her name is katinka si......

This is real. This woman is a person I've met on a Dutch online forum, who really thinks this kind of purse is "cute". I believe she has workshops on how to make such purses, too, but I don't know the details on it.
