I, LisaMarie- a wacky hoax

Has anyone every heard of this Swedish woman, Lisa Johansen, who claimed to be the real Lisa Marie Presley? It's a pretty wacky story. She used to have her own website, which apparently has since been pulled. She wrote a book called I, Lisa Marie, for which she was paid a $200,000 advance and was supposed to undergo DNA testing. She refused the DNA tests, DUH, which would have proved her case and sold millions of copies of her book. Gee, I wonder why she wouldn't get tested? Especially since she was offering half of Elvis's estate (including Graceland) to anyone who could help prove that she was indeed the King's daughter. Seems like a no-brainer to me.
Anyway, she's been sued by the real Lisa Marie. I guess that's why her website is down.
Here is an exerpt from the story on this site:
http://www.eonline.com/News/Court/0011.presley.html
Johansen's story sounds plausible enough: After Elvis died in 1977, Priscilla Presley acted on her fears that someone might try to kidnap the King's lone benefactor. So, she took Lisa Marie, then nine, to Sweden, where she was brought up. According to the book, Johansen was then replaced by the woman we now know as Lisa Marie.
"Trusted family members and friends convince [Johansen] it is for her own safety," according to Johansen's Website, "that she must assume a new identity until she comes of an age to take her rightful place as the sole heir of a huge estate."
I particularly like the "forensic" evidence that was offered by her:
The biggest piece of "forensic" evidence purportedly comes from a skull and face analysis of Lisa Marie Presley and of Elvis and Priscilla's daughter, as seen in photos at age nine. Johansen claims Lisa Marie's forehead as an adult is 13 percent smaller than that of the child in the photos.
"Since the skull doesn't shrink as you grow older--the reports indicate a switch," her Website deduces. "The little Lisa Marie, who spent her childhood years in Graceland, had disappeared!"
I was on her site and I saw the pictures of her and read her story. She does look a bit like the real Lisa Marie, I'll give her that. But, being that Lisa Marie is the absolute spitting image of her dad, it's a ridiculous claim that she's an imposter! It's pretty amusing though. I wish her site was still available just so you guys could read the rantings of a truly delusional individual.
Has anyone else seen it?

I finally read the book and all I can say is that it was much, MUCH worse than I expected.
This Johansen woman is a real mental case!
The book was completely embarrassing and juvenile! It's nothing more than pointless rambling from an insane person!
The whole story was more stupid than any |

K.D are you responsible for this sari-lisa website?
If you are, i have som questions for you.
What does this website get out from investigating all of this?
If you really want to unmask the truth, why do you have a very un-professional website for this cause? You haven't reached out to a lot of people about this and you haven't had that many vistors. And all these sources and interviews, how can you trust them?
I know that Sari or Lisa (or whatever) doesn't have any proof for being 'The Kings' daughter. But what evidence does this website have for all those things you have written about her?
And one other thing.
I think it was quite a while ago that she actually said she was Elvis's daughter. She has kind of "given it all up" now. It's these kinds of forums and people like you that keeps this whole hoax thing about her going. She hasn't recently claimed that she is the real Lisa Marie. |

directed to anyone - you sound as if you know her, do you? Why would she just give up, if what she claims is fact - would you?? forget about the money part of the whole scenerio, more importantly is the name-right for geneaology purposes etc.. do you actually believe she is the real Lisa Marie? The other one looks like Elvis. I don't think you should blame the board, she is the one that wrote the book which inevitably invites questions - skeptics etc. Like all the Mystery of Elvis himself, and people still trying to prove he may be alive, there are a lot of unanswered questions that tend to make some believe he is alive. |

>It's these kinds of forums and people like you that >keeps this whole hoax thing about her going.
The family frequently appears on Swedish TV, always with some hard to believe story about one thing or another.
THAT is what keeps the whole hoax thing going!
The more they appear in public, the more people want to find out the truth about them. |

you say: Where are her victims? Bring out one! Or two! or three!
1. Her birth father and mother, the Nickulas, who she denied as being hers. Their hurt must be unbearable.
2. Her children, who she lied to and told them Elvis was their grandfather.
3. All the people in the U.S. (and there were many) who gave their time, money and use of their homes to a crook for many years before they realized they had been scammed. |

I know this is a hoax board, but it is the only one that seems to have any activity. Would be nice if it could be congenial, (people have different views for obvious reasons). Maybe someone should start a board to be able to discuss it in a civil manner (Pros and Cons). Since there IS so much controversy on Elvis in general, IF there was a board where everyone is civil to one another - possibly each "side" could learn something. Who knows it could prove to be very interesting. If someone does start a new board, please post the website here to make people aware that may be interested in participating. |

This woman has no right to be mad becuase all of this fuzz going around about her, she started it.
The thing is, Lisa johansen is claiming that she IS Lisa Marie Presley and that the real Lisa Marie is just fake stand-in. She wont make the DNA-test and that's why we cannot believe her.
This swedish woman sari started everything by claiming that she's Elvis only daughter.
But she's also the one that can put an end to all this, if she either take that stupid DNA-test or just go out to the media once and for all tell us thats she's been lying all this years. |

I actually met this lady when I was at Graceland for Elvis week in 1999. Some people on the street behind Elvis Presley Blvd. hosted the event.
She had a lady with her who claimed to be Elvis' aunt. She was really old. We were wondering who this lady was, how Johansen got her involved, etc.
It was pretty interesting. I bought her book but found it very non-believable. |

THAT is interesting !!! Did you have an opportunity to talk to Johansen? Anything enlightening in the conversation? Strange she would be with an Aunt if she isn't somehow related to the Presley's - considering everything that was written in her book, - something doesn't sound right. |

MC,
I did talk with her. After we were told about her at the house we went to on Sat. we were told to come back on Sun. to meet her. She was brought in by police cars under tight security. We could go in one at a time and talk with her and get her to sign the book if we had bought it.
The more I think about it - I think maybe the older lady (at least 80 - 90) was being paid to be in on this. Either that, or like my husband said, the older lady already had dementia or alzheimer's. I think the thing that bothered us the most was the people that were hosting this and the lady that was the spokesperson for Lisa Johansen. Why were they involved in this (at least 10 people)?
We went to Elvis Week again in 2000 and saw nothing going on at that house. |

More added to the puzzle - to think that she attended the Graceland for Elvis week in 1999 indicates she was still attempting to make her point. Surprisingly that Elvis Presley Ent. did not shut her down and prevent her from doing the book signing etc.
I haven't seen any recent information on whether or not she is still trying to prove what she claims of being Elvis daughter. Your posting in 1999, I believe is the latest one.
However, I have seen blogs, and all the buzz again trying to prove that Elvis is still alive.
I also found a website for Elvis Aaron Presley,
Jr. - claiming he was told when he was 21 that his father was Elvis. Apparently he did some investigating, ( in fact I think the gov't did it) including DNA. (He was given up for adoption, Mother was NOT Priscilla).
He is saying he does not want "money" he feels he got the "voice". However he said he has tried to make contact with Lisa Marie and has recieved no response. He went to court to legally change his name to Elvis Aaron Presley Jr. which with all the documentation he was successful in that effort. Which brings up the strong possibility that HE may be a SON. I cannot imagine Elvis presley Enterprises allowing him to take his name without positive proof of claims. They are real Sticklers on ANYONE using Elvis - or the image of Elvis without a license from them.
So the story of Elvis goes on, and gets stranger and more puzzling as time goes on.
As far as Johansen goes, this has apparently been going on for YEARS, she really needs to give in and take a DNA to prove what she says. And I think her story would be more plausible if she claimed she was a daughter of Elvis, the bazaar part is her claim to BE Lisa Marie, that just doesn't add up, (If that was true, and done for safety purposes, I think by the time she turned 18, Priscilla would have let it be known at that time with an explanation).
WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT ALL OF THIS??? |

MC,
She is not the daughter of Elvis. The last I heard she was being sued because she got 200,000 up front for the book and then backed on the DNA. Probably just getting the 200,000 for the scam was enough for her.
As far as EPE not letting her sign the book, she was not actually at Graceland. She was at a neighbor's house. You could go to the back fence and see Graceland from there so there was nothing EPE could do since she was not on their property.
By the way, I have a picture I took of her and the aunt. I keep them in her book as a bookmark. |

Louise, thanks for the response. Boy, thats something - the fact that you got a picture of her and the (aunt) - have you tried to see if the aunt in the pic resembles Elvis's Aunt/Aunts? In her book she stated she did go into Graceland and saw the Aunt who remembered her and also went upstairs. I'm wondering if all of that was fact or fiction. Getting INTO Gracelands private quarters would not be an easy task. For sure she would have been stopped. Yes, I read also about her refusal to take the DNA - I also read somewhere that she is now a lawyer, so if that is the case, she would certainly be able to put an end to ANY speculation or questions by agreeing to a DNA. The LISA we all know as Elvis's daughter looks like Elvis. Facinating you have a pic of Sari and Aunt !!!!! You should do some research. That would be interesting. |
