OK. I have a real pet peeve with people who forward panic stricken emails that you're supposed to immediately send to everybody you know about something that they have not even bothered to check the facts on! It really pisses me off!
Apparently there is a resurgence of this email that I just got today:
Subject:VERY IMPORTANT PLEASE READ
GOOD MORNING! PLEASE READ, JUST RECEIVED FROM A FRIEND IN N.J.
VERY IMPORTANT WARNING Please Be Extremely Careful especially if using internet mail such as Yahoo, Hotmail, AOL and so on. This information arrived this morning from Microsoft and Norton. Please send it to everybody you know who accesses the Internet. You may receive an apparently harmless email with a Power Point presentation "Life is beautiful. pps". If you receive it DO NOT OPEN THE FILE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, and delete it immediately. if you open this file, a message will appear on your screen saying: "It is too late now, your life is no longer beautiful", subsequently you will LOSE EVERYTHING IN YOUR PC and the person who sent it to you gain access to your name, e-mail and password. This is a new virus which started to circulate on Saturday afternoon. WE NEED TO DO EVERYTHING POSSIBLE TO STOP THIS VIRUS. AOL has already confirmed the severity, and the antivirus Software's are not capable of destroying it. The virus has been created by a hacker who calls himself "life owner". PLEASE MAKE A COPY OF THIS EMAIL TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS and PASS IT ON IMMEDIATELY
Just thought I'd share it with you.
I always send an email back to everyone on the list siting numerous sites that they can go to to check out their stories before blindly passing them on. I let them know in no uncertain terms that it is very annoying and it's very simple to check your facts before forwarding something. Please people! It's simple email etiquette! (I'm not yelling at you guys, I'm just ranting.) Thanks for listening.
I think the term for this is 'fried spam', which stands for 'friend spam' or 'spam from friends'... i.e. all that junk friends forward you thinking it's info you really need to know.

look-this gay girl in my class just emailed that to me. i knew it was a hoax from the start--wut i dont get is how some girls and boys have nothing else to do besides forward hoaxes or write them
I assume aj didn't mean it in a sexual orientation way but rather as "loser" or "stupid". "Gay" seems to be a generic insult these days without any specific connotation. Of course I could be wrong as I've never been very in touch with the younger generation. Even when I was one.
Or aj could mean the girl was particularly happy today.
We have to forgive them for their ignorance since smothering them in their sleep seems to be illegal these days.
Just got that E-Mail through, and yes it pisses me off too when people just forward shit on without checking it.

I love chain letters
I love the illogicality of them
For example:
Mr Owen Deede sent on 9000 copies and within a week was a millionaire and had a controlling interest in the world.
Mrs Mandy Lifebotes however ignored broke the chain and drowned the next time she went to the lavatory.
My point is always, so how did you know this when you were writing the original letter, since it can't have happened yet. And if this was written after these event took place, then obviously it's not the same letter.
The small detail of 'how would they know' is minor by comparisson
I once had a friend who had my email addy, and he seemed to believe in sending on chain emails (growl)
I don't know where I'm going with this, but somehow it seemed relavent.

What I love are the e-mails that claim to be a browser test from microsoft. I recently got one that said something like:
"Microsoft is doing a survey to see how many people use Internet Explorer. Please forward this e-mail to everyone you know. For ever person that receives it, you will receive $50. This e-mail has a built-in tracker that will tell microsoft how many people you send it to. You will recieve your check in about a week."
What a joke... Microsoft already knows how many people use IE, they are certainly not going to pay $50 for ever person that forwards a dumb e-mail, and there is no way that microsoft would know which people you send the e-mail to.

Many blogs focus on a particular topic, such as web design, home staging, sports, or mobile technology. Some are more eclectic, presenting links to all types of other sites. And others are mor
