Cat + Lime + Free time

I don't know if this is a real photo or if it was photoshopped, but it is one of the funniest images I've ever seen. Every time I look at it I crack up!
Do you think it's real? I know cats, and I can't imagine a cat sitting still for this.

If I did that to any of my cats they would wait for me to go to sleep. I would then be subject to 20 very sharp claws and some very sharp teeth rending my flesh. Never mess with a cat, they remember what you did and paybacks are hell!

No, he doesn't look very happy, does he? He must be a pretty small cat, limes aren't that big.
I just can't imagine any cat not only sitting through what must have been several fittings, but then sitting so perfectly there while his picture is taken! Too funny. It looks real enough though. Maybe they drugged him. LOL
Anyway, it is now my wallpaper on my deck top. I don't know why, but it just tickles me every time I see it! I now threaten my cat by telling her I'm going to give her a lime helmet!

That's Limecat. It's been a fad for years on LUE at GameFAQs. I'd link to the original, but Limecat wouldn't be pleased. Google it.

Can someone please tell me the history of Limecat? I can't believe the are actually "Limecat groups" dedicated to talking about Limecat!
Does anyone know how this all started? Who is Limecat, and is there any footage of his epic battle with the Clock Spider?
