I saw this "miracle bracelet", advertised on TV last night and just had to check out their website. With this device, you could win the Olympic marathon or a PGA title. But I wonder what would happen if all your competitors had one too?

I have worn a Q-Ray for the past 13 or so years, having replaced them every 2 years or so when the pain I have in my back and in other places from fibromyalgia, would start to come back. The new Q-rays always worked, even though I could not afford them. About three months ago, even though I had replaced the Q-ray (right from the factory) I noticed it was not keeping my pain away any more, and gradually it got worse and worse. I am trying to find out if the body builds up a resistance to whatever it is that makes Q-ray work for so many people. It kept me sane for all those years, and also many people that I recommended it to (not everyone). I took it off for a few days to see if I can "reset" my body to react positively to the Q-ray again, and tonight I put it back on. I did notice an immediate relief, not 100%, but much better. I would appreciate anyone who has knowledge of Q-ray stopping it's effectiveness after a period of time. Thanks. Lynn |

Lynn,
You do realize this is a forum about hoaxes, don't you? I think it's safe to say the Q-Ray does not lose any of its effectiveness after a period of time. |

Bob,
If something "works" for you, it could be fine, provided your are not missing out on a proven treatment that is not just "in your mind". But perhaps you didn't read the rest of this thread. If so, you would have missed the part about Q-Ray's court case where they admitted their product has no proven science behind it. In fact they chose to say it was based on ancient Chinese medicine only because it sounded nice. Therefore the only explanation for its apparent effectiveness is that it is all "in your mind". Unless, that is, you choose to believe Q-Ray accidently discovered a miracle medical device when their only intent was to scam people. What are the odds against that?
Ira,
At least you caught my sarcasm. I don't thing Bob did though and somehow I don't think Lynn will either. |

O well.I wasent here to be sarcastic.I think if you believe in something ,and it works for you, well who cares what others think.I certainly dont. All i know is that i feel much better since i got my q ray,and i have friends that say the same thing. So why would it matter how many of you dont believe it!! |

Bob,
It doesn't matter to me if you believe the Q-Ray works. What matters is, Q-Ray makes claims that are demonstrably false; that's the main issue. You came here voluntarily and supported those false claims so naturally I couldn't let them go unchallenged. If the Q-Ray bracelet makes you feel better, I'm glad for you. Perhaps you just didn't realize this forum is about hoaxes, not "how Q-Ray has changed my life". |

Capt Al,
I must take issue with your comments.
The Q-Ray bracelet DOES work ! ( for some of us )
The question might be - why?, but for me, and others, the thing is a blessing.
Besides, it looks good ! |

Well excuse me!!...I have not come here to make false claims.I`m simply telling it, how it is for me. And i dont believe that it`s a hoex.Copper, and other natural elaments do help people, and have for years. It can be good for those with arthritis ect..
Q-ray is just a fancy, and fashionable way to get the same elaments. It`s a company that took advantage of somthing thats been around for years.I do believe they are way "overpriced", If you wanted to take the time to make your own,it was cost you about $2 to bend and heat some pipes ect... im sure it would work just as well. However, who wants a old bent up copper pipe around there whrist!! lol,yes lol.
I did not come here to protest,or promote the q-ray.Its my birthday today, and ive had mine 2 years.I first wrote to this post the very same time i decided to try it!!
I always thought is was bogus before then. But as to date,i dont feel that its a hoex or a scam.Yes i agree there claims are highly exzaggerated, just like millions of products are. There are no miracle cures TO WHAT AILS US HUMANS.
I do not take any persription drugs, and i believe that healthy eating ,and exersise is the real trick. So thats how i live,so my q-ray is just a bonus, and maybe a mental reminder that ist all about a good healthy well bieng.Wearing the q-ray is certainly not going to hurt....So again i say: as for me it definitly works, and it is a nice arm band too.If i die tommorow,at least i would go knowing my last day was a good one.So hoex ,or not.It wont hurt to try it for yourself.
Hope you all have a nice day im 46 today,, |

It doesn't make me mad, I'm on my 4th one (every 2 years)
I am kind of hoping though, that the gold plating doesn't wear off this one as quickly.
Happy Holidays ! |

Why do any of you even bother with quackwatch. It is run by one guy who is no authority on anything, yet professes to be. He attacks every natural therapy available and has no background to do so yet people constantly reference his site as if he's the Messiah. Well, he's not and I, for one, know that he knows nothing. If you really want the clear facts you're better off staying away from quackwatch and doing a web search to find the information you seek and answer for. |

I agree, why even bother with "Quackwatch," or "Museum of Hoaxes ?"
I've come to the conclusion, after nearly 50 years on this planet, that some people are determined to be idiots, and there's not a single thing anyone can do about it.
Most have probably seen this amazing story of the woman that lost nearly $400,000 of her husband's retirement money to a Nigerian Scam.
Most of it was sent AFTER she had been warned by her family, bank officials, AND THE POLICE!!!
One good thing though...she had her Q-Ray Bracelet on, so the pain in her butt was barely noticeable. |

I had a friend from the Fibromyalgia/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome support group who had much better results, which is why I was willing to try it at all. She went from being in danger of losing her job to being able to go dancing again. |

Hay,
Wow ,I can`t believe that this post would bring out the boldness in some to say that perhaps a lack of education is the reason some believe. It`s a funny thing but some people actually think they are so smart, and simply know everything about everything!Well excuse me mr know it all! I think, and know this.If you are down because of pain or for any other reason one must believe in something, to move on,and live a productive, and happy life.If anyone believes this bracelet is nice, and makes them feel good,,so be it!! Don`t let anyone, even those who try to prove there always rite.Believe what you believe.Be your own person, and buy what you want, and what you like.It don`t take a brainiak to figure that one out lol
Ps. have a nice life, you too negative posters. |

I'm sure some people think that one has to be unintelligent to be a believer in things like Q-Ray but I certainly don't and I hope that most skeptics don't think like that.
I think we can all understand that a person in dire straits, perhaps in intractable pain, will want to believe in something but that doesn't mean that anything you choose to believe in is real.
Suppose, for some reason, you chose to believe that the Earth was flat. Even if you sincerely believed that with every fiber of your being, it would still be wrong.
Personally, I think that one of the lowest thing someone can do is to take advantage of a person's sincere belief by means of fraud, especially if the victim is in pain. |

to you,or whoever,
..... for some reason, you chose to believe that the Earth was flat. Even if you sincerely believed that with every fiber of your being, it would still be wrong.
Hay i agree with you 100% on the fact that no person should be mislead or wrongfully swayed into something unless they are a "ignorant" person,or one that cant make rational decisions for themselves. As for the other comments i totally disagree.
However,as far as this bracelet being a hoex its no more of a hoex than general moters (GM) is.Winning all those bogus awards They should be called government motors ,or play dirty and "hoex" toyota now that`s a hoex worth writing about. What about government promises? to the voters, all a hoax to unsuspecting or "ignorant" people who voted or believed.Or maybe god is a hoex to keep order in this planet.
There has been many unknown natural elements that have a gravity effect on humans, including natural enemies as well. The positive, and negative forces are even a factor in human behavior,or impulses ect.
If some person buys a Qray for $100 bucks ,and it makes them feel better providing they still don`t think the world is "flat" why discourage them?I think there are far more scams to be concerned about like that really hurt the pocketbook much more than a bracelet!!I could see if the thing rusted out on your arm or something.Like i said before someone just took a remady thats been around for thousands of years, and made it fancy so they could justify the price. But not to believe that copper, and the other elaments in the qray have no benefit,or that those who buy them think the world is "flat" that rationalization does not seem so smart to me.Maybe in his own mind lol.so to sum it all up with good looks, and possible positive effect..no hoex nomatter how you look at it.
...I really think some people need to get a life instead of challenging a cheap product like q ray.
I have a education and my q-ray was a gift.I like it,and if i paid $100 bucks for it,i have no regrets. In fact i did not even read the great effects,or claims about what it does.I just wear it because it supposed to make me feel good, and i feel good about wearing it.If nothing else, its a nice $100 bracelet.Anyway, like i said before, and i will stick by it.If you are not a stupid person, and you like it for the looks, buy it,and if it makes you feel better!!BONUS......One nite at a slot machine losing would be worse he he smiles for all,and "good luck" |
