Think and Reason is offering $1,000,000 if you can prove that God exists. There are conditions attached. But they do say: "All you have to do is prove, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that God exists. It is really that easy!"
Is there really this money sitting waiting?
Supposing I said I was God - and prove I exist (should be easy) - is the money mine?
Of course God exists. He talks to me. He tells me to go to the Think and Reason website and sign up for online MLM marketing 'opportunities'. And he tells me to visit Landover Baptist for salvation.

The Proof:
1. God is perfect and all powerful
2. God created man
Therefore
3. Man must be perfect
erm - ok
By the way, as the result of being created by a supreme being any screw ups I make in my life must be the fault of the designer (God).
I refuse to take the blame for another's errors
"I think Jesus Freak and Frankus should be thankful they are living in the modern age with central heating and supermarkets and not 50,000 years ago. Otherwise natural selection would have wiped them out. Instead of learning how to make fire or look for food they would be faithfully waiting for it to appear before them."
Except that they probably don't believe that the Earth has existed for more than 6,000 years.

The only way you could win that money is if it was just one man doing the contest, then manage to convince him of some invisible suprem being that never speaks to you, and if you don't do what supposedly he had people write down, you will be thrown into a pit of fire forever and ever. But he still loves you. Then he would believe God is real, and he will have to give up the money. You know if any parent raised a child like GOD raises us, they would be locked up.

kjv Job 9:8 states that God alone takes credit for the heavens expanding.
The space hubble confirms that space is expanding.
The space hubble scientists are saying that galaxies are not moving into space but is spreading, or some force is spreading the galaxies apart at speeds greater than the speed of light.
God himself stated in his Word that he alone spreadeth the heavens. You have proof that God exists, in the visible world. God is able to spread the galaxies apart at speeds greater than the speed of light, all galaxies at the same time are spreading apart in agreement with his Word.
What an awesome God we have, that is not bound by lights speed, and this has been confirmed by the hubble people that the galaxies are spreading at speeds greater than the speed of light.
We know that God is not bound by time, as he already knows the future. This is interesting in that God is in the present, still present in the past, and already present in the future. The devil is bound by the speed of light, but God is not bound, by speed, time, cause he is already all places at all times.
The bible says he is the same yesterday, today and forever. What an awesome God, that has made visible supernatural evidences that the heavens (galaxies) are spreading and saying that he alone is responsible.
kjv Job 9:8 in part says: Which alone spreadeth out the heavens.

His whole bible lesson, and everything he believes about it, are all still second hand information. Which means little to the educated, and even less when seeking PROOF. Do we know the meaning of that word Jim? I also claim to be responsible for the expansion of the universe. Does that make it so? How do you know God said this? Were you there to hear him say it? Or did He just tell you himself that he said that? OR are you just believing what you've been told to believe... written down by someone else (NOT GOD) over 3,000 years ago??? The gullibility of people will NEVER cease to be entertaining!

Well, what about those who came before Jesus? Before any Christian, or Baptist, or any of the other religions? Are the early homosapiens all burning in eternal damnation, all because they didn't know about "God"?

Dear Red,
Although your intentions are in the right place, and we get your point, they will gain NO insight from it. You shouldn't forget that according to the bible thumpers the earth and man are no more than 6,000 years old. Meaning they believe that God has always had a presence and therefore no one would be "left-behind" so to speak in the way you ask about. Man, according to them and their belief, started out "intelligent and civilized" and didn't go through these major time periods of evolution whether social or biological. Therefore your point is moot to them and their argument...
Mark-N-Jen: My thoughts exactly! Sometimes it's difficult for me to express myself in english (mostly when I get angry with, well....this) but that is what I would have said!

Apparantly, if you are ignorant of Jesus, you can still go to heaven, but once you are told about him, you all of a sudden have this wonderful choice, Choose Jesus or choose HELL!!!!!!!
Depends on what Denomination you are I guess. Sounds like the ignorant have the easy way out. I use to have issues with that because no one gave me a clear answer and I haven't studied that part of the bible yet in detail. I need to read up on that so I can have some defense in that area incase I have someone try and convert me again.
Actually, I'm not sure that the biblical literalists would say that those who are ignorant of Jesus can go to Heaven. I think that those who are ignorant of Jesus aren't considered to have souls. They're not fully human, so to speak. Same with animals. They don't go to heaven either.
I remember this point came up back when I was taking religion class in elementary school and I was trying to figure out how Adam and Eve could have populated the entire earth without a whole lot of inbreeding and incest occurring. My teacher told me that the answer was that Adam and Eve were the first humans with souls, but that there were other humans already living ouside of the Garden of Eden with whom Cain and Abel were able to breed.
When I heard this explanation was coincidentally around the time I started to have doubts about the whole religion thing.

You just gave me something else to look into Alex. I recall hearing something about that. But I was forced to go to a Penticostal Holiness church growing up. They never mentioned that. I repeated what I was told. Thats why I gave up religion when I was 18 and decided just to study the book myself. I discover more and more things I was taught to be, well, inaccurate. I was kinda pissed about that.
Alex--surely you're not suggesting that a religious authority just made some answer up on the spot and claimed it was a divine truth that had to be taken on faith? I happen to know for a fact that everything taught in a religious context--in fact, every word that ever has been or ever will be uttered by a person in a position of religious authority--is carefully vetted by God's on-site staff of expert Quality Assurance specialists. God doesn't have a whole lot of patience for people who misquote Him... Although to be fair, I hear He's been outsourcing a lot of His work lately...
Alex, I always wondered about that whole Adam & Eve populating the Earth thing. And who were the people that were supposed to see the "mark of Cain"? I guess they were these "soul-less" people on the other side of town. I kinda picture them like the infected people in the movie "28 Days Later". Those poor soul-less slobs. Now, is the idea that because they mated with the "highly-souled" Cain & Able, they somehow, magically developed souls, or did just their offspring have souls?
My mistake, I've always thought that the "soul" was the core being of a person, not something you owned. I've always thought of it that you are soul and you have a body, not the other way around. But, what do I know. I'm just a heathen.
