Prove God Exists and Get $1,000,000

Think and Reason is offering $1,000,000 if you can prove that God exists. There are conditions attached. But they do say: "All you have to do is prove, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that God exists. It is really that easy!"
Is there really this money sitting waiting?
Supposing I said I was God - and prove I exist (should be easy) - is the money mine?

I have a question: How many angels can dance on a pinhead? That's bothered me for years. By the way, if you get the million, I'll change my name to Charity. |

So if any Canadians want to beat me up, eh, well, like punch me with their Canuknuckles or or kick me abOOt with their bOOts, or Kick My A, eh, well, I'm soory. Eh. |

Is that a rhetorical question, or do you really want me to answer that? My answer would involve a referal to the above-mentioned punching and kicking. That also proves the existence of God, in that God probably stayed my hand from strangling my big brother when I was a kid. There's still time, though, God help him. |

Open letter to Timmo:
Two quick questions, Timmo:
1: What the hell are you talking about?
2: What does it have to do with proving the existance of God?
Quoting the only part of your screed that I could understand:
"...plus the fact that 1/3 of the human spieces kneel to Him just 2000 years after he walked the earth and democracy suddenly occurred after his Word spread are enough for me to follow Jesus, God in ape-form."
What "democracy" are you referring to and how would its appearance soon (whatever that means) after Jesus' death prove that he was divine?
Also, if as you say one-third of the world's population worships Jesus, that would mean that TWO-thirds doesn't. Again, how does THAT prove the divinity of Jesus? |

You are here. There's proof.
Ok, so let's say the therie (i KNOW it's spelled wrong) of eveloution is real, then who do you think put those monkeys there?
Ok, so let's say that the eveloution of cells is true, who put the cell there? no matter how far we go back you can keep asking those christians.
And, as in all religion posts, i must remind all of you about the second coming of Christ.
He is coming and he will punish the non belivers, just wait and see |

Yeah, let's keep asking those "christians," shall we? Sheesh.
So, Frankus, are you attacking or defending the notion of evolution?
Let's take your suggestion about going back and asking questions about who put things where they are or were. Who put God where He is? No one, you say? Ah, so there CAN be something that wasn't put in place by someone or something. Interesting.
Oh, just because I'm curious, why would a "loving God" want to punish people just because they ask questions that might imply that they don't believe in Him? Shouldn't "He" provide better information about "His" existance so that there can be no question about it? "He" gave us free will but when we use it, "He" punishes us? This makes sense to you?
By the way, don't you think that God wants us to be smart? Given that, shouldn't you make an effort not to spell so badly? |

Why do you HAVE to put some things into faith? Who says I have to? I prefer to use my mind, question and investigate theories and come to my own conclusions on things. I'm not saying that there is no God, I'm saying that there is no way for any of us to know anything for sure! Not 100% sure. It's all conjecture and faith. I for one, an not willing to put my entire belief system into something that may or may not be true. But that's my business. If you want to base your life on faith, go right ahead.
I totally agree with Cranky Media Guy. If God did give us free will, he would not punish us for using it. I think God does want us to question, use our intelligence and come to our own conclusions on things. It doesn't mean anything if thing are just taken on faith, out of fear. If you're going to believe something, do it because you've questioned, done research, searched the depths of your soul and then come to a realization for yourself. I don't think God, or Jesus, for that matter, would want anyone to just blindly take things on faith purely out of the fear of what could happen from not believing.
The need most Christians have for everyone to believe as they do is disturbing to me. Don't worry about me. Do your own thing any live & let live. Don't pray for me, don't try to "save" me. Whatever conclusions I come to are MY business. Let me worry about my own immortal soul.
Thank you. |

Dear Jesus Freak, Aren't God and Jesus one in the same in addition to The Holy Spirit??? These are things that are said in your bible? So why all the contradiction? God goes from being violent and vengeful in the old testament to loving and all forgiving in the new testaments. It's just another thing about the bible that speaks volumes about it's reality which religious zealots refuse to address... go ahead with your raving now. But I bet you still don't address the actual question here... |

So God is a mean-spirited SOB but his kid's kind of cool? Thanks for clearing that up for me.
Seriously, though, WHY do I "have" to put some things into faith? Why can't I question and try to find out what's true and what isn't? Since I have free will (supposedly given to me by God), why can't I use it? |

Fortunately, he doesn't have the ability to keep us from thinking logically. The Bush administration seems to be trying to figure out a way to prevent people from doing that, but they haven't gotten there just yet.
As far as I'm concerned, the Bible is a book of fairy tales. It should not be taken literally. I can't see any logical argument against the Golden Rule, but other than that, it's just a bunch of silliness. |

I think Jesus Freak and Frankus should be thankful they are living in the modern age with central heating and supermarkets and not 50,000 years ago. Otherwise natural selection would have wiped them out. Instead of learning how to make fire or look for food they would be faithfully waiting for it to appear before them. |
