readers may or not be interested to learn that the coy-dog stories as well as our friend the jackalope were , and still are , told in the upstate region [ lake george , ny , usa ] ; however , the genuine adirondack guides also swore they had seen bigfoot - like prints -and not always in the snow . these guys could tell who had walked across their property . ufo stories were the rage in the area , esp. around 1956-58 . in south india , where my wife and i live , the locals sometimes refer to the " rabbit- deer " , although they make no claims regarding the vocal talents of these elusives . great site and wonderful book .
