Find missing persons with DNA

I did my ironing in front of the tv last night... doing ironing on your own sucks. Anyways, I was doing my ironing when a report aired about a new technology that allows you to find missing persons with some DNA and advanced satellite systems. It all sounds too good to be true and personally I cannot fathom how this could work. The few details and large claims all smack of hoax material...Here's the news report

Cheers

Didn't they use a pendulum and a map to find missing people in the past - sounds like an updated bit of dowsing (so if you believe in dowsing, you'll believe in this......and fairies too, probably).

"The equipment and system used is being kept top secret in Bloemfontein, but parents of children that were found say it really works."

Top Secret? Really?

Is this another one of Toby Alexander's enterprises?

Definitely bogus. It's probably a scam to con money out of parents with missing children. It sounds weirdly similar to the Abrams' Dynamizer, a quack invention from the early 20th century that could supposedly diagnose a person's illness based on their signature alone:

Any parents that try this...are probably the same parents that read that bed-time story, "Strangers Have The Best Candy" to their kids.
