Fake Doctor Notes

Okay, what's going on with the 'fake doctor notes' thread on my blog?

http://www.museumofhoaxes.com/hoax/weblog/comments/607/

It's quickly becoming one of the most popular topics. Just comment after comment saying 'I need a doctor's note for...'

Is there some kind of joke that I'm not getting? Or is this just some kind of weird random thing that people enjoy posting?

Looks like a lot of people need an excuse so they can "ditch" school or work! Or maybe they just enjoy fantasizing about it.

It's on top when you search for "fake doctor notes" on Google.
These are the exact words.

My guess is that people really are searching for fake doctor notes and think YOU are the doctor and you'll send them a fake doctor note if they leave a message.

Yeah, they must be coming through google. I hadn't thought of that. So I've inadvertently created a hoax. That's classic.

Buy a degree, charge them 10 bucks for a note. Maybe you can retire really early in a few years time.

Today alone, seven people posted comments requesting doctor's notes. That would be $70 in one day. But I think $10 a note is too cheap. Make it $40. That would be $280 in one day. I'd be living on easy street.

Ah, but seven is just a start. With your initial income (don't give up the day job just yet........which you don't really have anyway) you can spread the word so many, many more people from all over the world will come to you for fake doctor notes.

40 bucks will scare them off. If you have a crummy job you may not make much more a day. May as well call in sick for real.

I added one of my own just for fun. Please don't charge me $10 or $40, though. According to the article you linked to, the doctor who is (or was) doing this was charging $40, so I don't think the $40 idea is outrageous. It would be worth it to not lose your job or flunk out of school. Plus, Alex, don't you have a PhD in Hoaxology or something? That makes you a real doctor!

perhaps all those folks are in on one big hoax, designed to make Alex think that they really want notes.... Unless, Alex knows that they are hoaxing him, and he's hoaxing us about being hoaxed- Oww... there goes an artery

Just tell "Them" you got the Diahria, BAD. Doesn't take a Doc to know that. It works all the time, except after awhile, people might stop associating with you., thus it was written.

My favourites are the ones that just write 'sick' or some incredibly vague thing like that, then only leave their first name.

It's Psychic Super Sick Notes to the rescue!
