I hate it when those things get stuck in the rad.
And one scared the crap out of me while I was welding one time. It landed on my ear, and when I reached up to flip the helmet up, it went nuts between the mask and my face. I had no idea what it was, but I think I may have set the record for helmet removal that day.
Has anyone dug up any NEW info on this woman? I look every once in a while, but I haven't seen anything. I'd really like to know what the actual story is behind her "art". |

Rod, there doesn't appear to be any NEW info on this woman. The top result on google just brings up the site referenced in the original post. All the rest of it seems to be articles relating to the gallery(ies) showing her work, or forums discussing said work.
As for the dragonflies, don't appear to get many of them here. I suppose because they breed in the same places as mozzies, which get sprayed on a regular basis. Now that's a terrifying experience - waking up to hear a high pitched whine in the middle of the night, knowing that there's some evil little bugger wanting to suck your blood in the room with you. |

How To Add an Avatar
Create a 50x50 pixel image. Your image will be automatically resized to 50x50 when it appears on this site, so if it's bigger or smaller than this it may end up looking squashed or stretched out.
Upload it to a server. There are plenty of free image hosting sites around to upload it to, such as photobucket.com.
Copy down the url path to your image.
Return to the Museum of Hoaxes and click on the 'login' link. Then click on 'my account'. Then click on 'edit my profile'
In the field labelled 'avatar' type in the url of your image.
Click 'Update' and you're done.
Oh, and keep your avatar 'safe for work' |

ooooook, it works like this.
For, example, Right click on my picture. a screen will appear and you want to click on properties. Then when that screen pop's up, you will see "Address" or "URL". Copy that. This works on almost every picture on the net. Then, on this site, on the home page, click on the Login link, then, my account, then edit profile. Scroll down until it says "Avatar" and paste the Address of the picture. |

Yes, Bonsai Kittens are a hoax, and can be found on this site. Please feel free to look around while you're here, but don't touch anything. I can't be bothered trying to find it myself, otherwise I would post the link here. |

I could have bet money that we were going to get another Bonsai Kitty post in here.
I'm suffering from some sort of eye rolling affliction. Everytime I see someone post something that's already been dealt with...my eyes start rolling. |

Sounds similar to the bonsai kitten hoax, maybe she does it just to annoy animal lovers, people can be sick to animals I think I read an article on how 2 10 year old boys got 50 years in prison for putting a cat in a microwave and blowing it up (for fun) |

God, the majority of you people are insanely stupid! Here is a quote from one of the amazingly intelligent people here... "The way I see it, your dumb and I'm going to get a laugh out of you if your dumb, but your going to play like your not dumb, I'm going to laugh even harder. Dumb-ass!" -Rex D
How inspirational...Just becuase there are problems involving your own species does that not mean that you cant also stick up for animals too? There really is no difference between companion animals and other animals other than the fact that hundreds of years ago some people captured them and came up with some "brilliant" idea on how to use the animal for their personal benefit. Im not saying that I agree with this "artist", but there are much worse forms of cruelty toward animals in the meat industry. Learn to respect other forms of life. We all think, feel, and love, but it is us the supposed "superior" that feels the need to dominate and abuse species due to our selfish desires. |

aa said..."but there are much worse forms of cruelty toward animals in the meat industry."
Eating meat and making meat available to other humans isn't cruelty... it's nature, life, the order of things.
Your mouth isn't full of molars only FOR A REASON! 2 billion years plus of evolutionary engineering just tossed aside because someone thinks we shouldn't eat meat. That's funny! Do you know what incisors or eye teeth are for? They certainly aren't for crushing your asparagus spears.
Humans eating what we SHOULD isn't as you put it...the supposed "superior" that feels the need to dominate and abuse species due to our selfish desires.
It's not abuse OR due to selfish desires. It's called SURVIVAL. It's called being biological, we eat what we're supposed to... except for nitwits that think they can just undo eons of evolutionary design on a whim, because they don't like the thought of eating anything with a face. What crap! If you're going to assign value to every life then what right do you have to end the "life" of a plant anymore than you do an animal? What's the difference there? Plants live just as animals do. Is it because you don't see movement? What? What justifies killing plants but not animals? I still think that someday people will see that we're meant, and need, to consume meat and those that go an entire lifetime without doing so will suffer from unforseen effects of such. |

Also SilentFish,
Speaking just for the US here but... Even when a 10-year old commits "murder" they have a hard time justifying a sentence of that length. Just to clarify I mean murder of a person. Someone of such a young age probably wouldn't be tried as an adult and probably wouldn't be detained past the age of 21 for murder.
So there is NO way that 2 minors were sentenced to "any" time for killing a cat. Recently (about 2 years ago) a deputy, off-duty and at home, witnessed his neighbor shooting his cat with a .22 rifle. The neighbor shot the cat over 50 times! Needless to say a big deal followed. Charges of cruelty to animals were filed and followed up on because the deputy had video taped the act after noticing what was going on. The outcome, the guy got the maximum penalty allowed by state law... $1,000 fine and 30 days jail time. Then they turned around and suspended the jail time because the animal was his. No way anyone gets a jail time sentence of any length over cruelty to animals... not in the USA.
Also, I'm not saying that it's right... but "cruelty to animals" just isn't really regarded as a serious crime anywhere in this country. |
