Hairy Houdini must be asleep or dead not to have more jokes on this thread. He's only made ONE "woody" joke. Could it be his Catholic upbringing is so ingrained(another wood pun there) that he can't take this further? Does he unconsiously fear the fires of hell? All I can say is that if I saw the Virgin Mary in my wood when I was a teen-ager, I would have self destructed in a firey ball of guilt and shame. |

Well of course not i have never met the mother of Jesus but the wood's image resemables the photos that more than half of the world relate as the virgin mary so there for, I belive the image on the wood not only the look but if one is familar with the images of Virgin Mary one would also relate the angel on the bottom w/wings the aura around her, the extended hand one would relate that as to be the Virgin Mary. If one was to find a piece of wood with a man with a long beard, a jolly ol' belly and a bag of gifts who would one asume that to be..? Well Mother of God, Santa Claus, or even a face of one's grandfather to find such a piece of nature that resambles a familar face so an awsome act. |

So it looks like artists' representation of Mary, but not Mary herself? Doesn't sound too terribly meaningful to me. |

Well it is called FAITH If you are calling yourself a member of hell you do not have the same beliefs as I, but I must ask Do know what Satan looks like? Have u met him personally and if you have i must offer you my prayers because ours souls belong to God not to the fallen angel. You beliefs are yours and if My wood with the Virgin Mary is not important to you then why did you respond? My faith can not be shook up by your doubt or you silly name. It is mine and important to me and mine and if someone else can benefit from her then i am glad oh i didn't mention the e took of her well there are some demon faces under her feet yes she defeated the evil well that's how we all percieve it and that's that! |

Wow, such vehemence over a woodstain.
If it's Mary, why doesn't it appear as Mary actually did? Why would it appear as a Europeanized image of her? After all, Mary was a middle eastern Jew. Odds are, she looked nothing like the angelic figure in all the paintings of her. Is she that ashamed of her heritage and appearance that she would only appear to us as an (Eurocentric) idealized version of herself?
Or is it more likely that people see what they want and expect to see? |

well i know what you are trying to express yes i so belive that the images we have been exposed to the almost blonde Jesus there is no way they would be so fair but you are misinterpeted me it is only a image not a clear picture and it is up to the view beauty is in the eye of the beholder and one will see what they want to see but over a hundred people see the same thing i think it is awesome and exciting too see i do not push my beiefs on anyone and i really didn't want to have to defend what i saw i only wanted to share it |

He more closely resembles Chairman Mao. I also have a photograph of myself from the seventies. It was taken by my friends when I was streaking my high school. When my Mom saw the picture, she yelled "Jesus Christ". Although |
