Starbuck\‘s refuses to send Coffie to Marines in Iraq

"I'm not sure about this one but It seems highly unlikely that Starbucks could be this stupid even if they felt this way they wouldn't verbalize it, but I have receveid this several times now and have not been able to find out if there is any truth to it. The Starbucks website has no dispute of this claim as of yet anybody know about this?"

Per the story there, Starbucks management says their company policy prohibits donations to military organizations (only non-profit groups like schools are allowable), and that they appreciate our service personnel but can't help.
I say it is time to change policy, don't you? Some employees are actually forwarding their own "one pound of coffee" each week to the troops. Words without works is nothing.

I used to work in a video store & people would get really upset when they would come in & ask for donations for charity auctions & we couldn't give them anything. I always handed them a form, they can submit their request to our corporate office, but it took 6-8 wks to process...& that was if the charity budget was still available. The beginning of the year (January) or fiscal year (July) is the best time to hit up companies for money.
