Is thisa hoax? A friend tellls me there is no Nancy Butler, Lawyer, at the address given. BREAKING---KERRY TO UNCONCEDE IF THERE IS EVIDENCE OF FRAUD
FORWARD TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW
EMAIL FROM DC LAWYER CYNTHIA BUTLER
I am angry and getting emails and recrimination from people wondering why KERRY just caved and is not fighting this before the final count in Ohio, before any of the fraud was challenged, before New Mexico and Iowa even came in.
There is widespread feeling that he did not lose the election and that it was taken from him.
There is enough here to warrant investigation and enough to challenge the results. It's coming from all corners.
I understand that he has until the official count certification in Ohio to Un Concede which is several days from now.
Anyone who thinks that he should unconcede should give reasons why - whatever they noticed, particularly in Red Republican Governed States using electronic machines- and send them directly to Cameron KERRY, John Kerry's brother at his law firm at the address .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)
They should inform us if they were not allowed to vote provisionally (for whatever reason- they lost forms, ran out of forms, etc.) I personally witnessed a number of things as I reported in Texas with the DCCC. (Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee)
If you know anyone in particular in Ohio who tried to vote and was turned away at the polls please get their information and notify the campaign.
They should be notified if they experienced lines longer than four hours -particularly elderly or infirm people (we call that torture when they do it to political prisoners) . They should be notified if people were told as has been reported that due to too many people showing up in African American precincts, particularly in Ohio where there were too few booths (some only had two or three for the entire precinct) and told because of heavy turn out they could vote on Wednesday. If the numbers of these sorts of incidents creates a percentage margin that exceeds the margin of victory- Un Concession has to be made to challenge the count.
If people wanted to and tried to vote and were prevented or actively discouraged from doing so, that is a Civil Rights matter and must be dealt with in terms of the ultimate count.
This is the last email that I am writing on this subject in this venue. I am taking it up in other venues.
Please pass along this to your listservs so that we may make Democracy Work in America. We are not a country where he who cheats best wins.

Robert Duvall, in Apocalypse Now..." I love the smell of napalm in the morning...it smells like victory" |

Maegan: that would be Apocalypse Now. Lt. Col. Bill Kilgore (Robert Duvall) says, "You smell that? Do you smell that?... Napalm, son. Nothing else in the world smells like that. I love the smell of napalm in the morning. You know, one time we had a hill bombed, for twelve hours. When it was all over I walked up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' dink body. The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory. Someday this war's gonna end..." |

Thanks, that's it. When I was about 17 I dated a guy who used to recite that. He even dressed up like Robert Duvall's character for Halloween. I could tell that he wanted to dress up that way every day, though. Every now and again if we were just hangin' out...He would look at me & go, Maegan, do you smell that? And he would launch into the monologue. When the Redux came out...I felt like I was being replaced. I dumped him. I don't think he even noticed. |

as long-winded and bizzare as some of Cynthia's posts have been, shouldn't we recognize that Cynthia is, by definition trying to expose a hoax (or fraud)? I encourage all American citizens to support the efforts of those who want some oversight, paper trail, or good-old-fashioned recount in the last election. Admittedly, Cynthia's style is "In-your-face", but certainly, so is the Fraud, if that be the case. No, I'm not encouraging Cynthia's rambling style of posts, but I must support those who want to protect the integrity of the electoral process, whatever their political affiliations may be. Cynthia, do your self-appointed job, just chill on the rambling posts. They don't offer much in the way of persuasive arguement- they tend to alienate rather than make allies. |

Thanks for the constructive criticism all. Paul, bless you (Merry Christmas)-
Who here thinks that our President should actually have won fair and square the Electoral College total votes before being declared actually the President? Raise your hand if you think Democracy should work here. Raise you hand if you think that theoretically the people who were hacking and rigging opti-scanners made by the same people who are declared re-election fundraisers should not get to pick your president for you. If you raised your hand I high-five you hand.
God Bless you all and God Bless America.
Happy Holidays one and all.

Don't go making a hundred ranting posts after this comment Cynthia, but didn't Kerry concede of his own accord? How many things (sporting events, etc.) can you un-give up after you already let it go? |

I try to keep the rants to a minimum (while the subject begs it) but Kerry is deeply involved in this effort to look at every issue uncovered in Ohio where there was and continues to be highly suspect activity. We learned recently that the Triband company making machines during the recount sent employees to the precincts that are supposed to be randomly selected, to remove and replace parts from the machines just before the recount. So the Secretary of State is apparently notifying people in advance which "random" precincts will be selected for a selective recount sampling and they are fixing the machines. This is frightening Casey. And it is very serious. It is not just about a few old tired black folk whining about having to stand in line too long (while that too is an issue when you realize that they had the machines in the minority precincts, intentionally kept them locked up elsewhere and told people waiting in line too long that -a- they could come back tomorrow because of the long lines and -b- their car would be towed soon)
Kerry, I am convinced will step up to the plate and claim what is rightfully his if the lawyers successfully demonstrate to the country that he did in fact win, which is what the lawyers close to the matter seriously believe.
Karl Rove, by the way has been named as a Defendant in the Ohio Supreme Court lawsuit that challenges the Ohio count. |

If you learned in a sporting event, that the Umpire was crooked, and paid by the head coach of one team to tilt the results, Casey, do you think it fair that the other side should get to call "Foul!"
I used to play old pin ball machines -remember those one- if you jammed the machine to the side by banging it or tried to tilt the machine on one leg to move the ball in one direction the machine yelled with flashing red lights "Tilt! Tilt!" and you automatically lost the game.
Maybe a day late and a dollar short, but "TILT! TILT!" Game over. |

There are a lot of things wrong with the voting system. The electoral college was originally in place b/c people were spread out. Campaigning took place on the back of a train. When the cadidate was finished, they went to the next train stop. There was no way to let all of the voters know about each candidate & what they stood for. The electoral college would be able to look at their voters & decide "what was best for them". It's an outdated process. With the technology available to even the poorest voter (free internet access/periodicals/newspapers available in the local library) there should be no reason for someone not to be educated. Even if they vote without looking at all of the details, that's really up to them. Even in 100 years there will still be people that will vote for someone b/c they like the way their name sounds, or because they're the same faith or religion & not because they share the same political views. It will never be perfect. That's all there is to it. |

There is a profound difference in law and common sense between inattention or ineptitude and criminal conduct when it comes to election law. There are laws that govern certain conduct on the part of people administering elections that are supposed to ensure fair elections and prevent the sort of rigged elections that would turn the country into a Latin American dictatorship where elections are just chimeric ruses to maintain power on the part of people who privatize everything, including the mechanics of vote counting. There is a profound difference. We need to understand it.
The blurring of the distinction will erode our Liberty fundamentally which is predicated on our ability to select our self-governance in a democracy. What we are witnessing is like a computer worm into Democracy that will eventually undermine it until it crashes the server of our libery. |

Well, we could go to a "check yes for candidate" but we did that once & it didn't seem to work. No one trusts anyone else to handle the voting issues. The machines are rigged, there are people telling voters to go home & come back, the machines are broken, the chads are hanging, you counted wrong, waiting in line is boring, a felon voted, a felon who could have voted didn't, 87.2% of this minority group didn't vote, it's too complicated...
The excuses are endless. Frankly, I'm glad Bush won. I didn't vote, b/c when I turned 18 I got a night job & slept thru the deadline. When the next election came around I was busy trying to be a good mother. There were a hundred reasons I didn't vote...none of them can actually be counted as legitimate, because there really is no excuse. Regardless of how Bush won, it's over. Kerry voluntarily conceded. Maybe he looked at what was going on & decided he didn't want any part of it. Kerry might have a good chance next election if things aren't so contreversial. You keep posting all these things about how John Kerry is fighting this, he's trying to get things turned around. Well, except for your posts, I haven't seen this on the news. I haven't seen it in the papers. Are you really SURE Kerry wants to take over now?
Going back to the sports analogy...Did you ever ask someone to play a game? They said they didn't want to play. You went & found someone else to play. Then the other kid comes back. NOW he wants to play, but it's mid-game. No one wants your 'first' choice in the game now...they're already attached to your 'second choice' player.
It's just not gonna work out. |

I have to disagree with you. The information on this is all over the Web if you looked. Go to the NVRI, truthout.org, Freepress.org, Daily Kos and many other sites. Go also to the Minority page of the House Judiciary site. John Conyers has said he is going to Block Bush on Jan.6.
This is not just blogsters looking for their 15 minutes. The HOUSE JUDICIARY COMMITTEE is investigating and has held hearings.
The Electoral College has not met. The Game has not been finally called under the Constitution.
There is major Federal and State litigation filed everywhere that has placed this election in the "not over until the Fat Lady sings" category.
I hope you do the research. Once you do, it will be beyond reasonable contention that Kerry actually won. If he won, he should get to live in the House and take the job.

Cynthia, allow me to commend you on your efforts to limit the size and length of your posts. You will gain a better rate of exchange with others on this site if you continue to do so. I applaud your efforts at maintaining the integrity of the electoral process, and I wish you success in your efforts. Yours in brevity, HH |
