Does anyone remember this book promotion?

I remember that there was a page up last year that was a promotion for a book that was coming out in either March or May. The story was that this guy figured out something along the lines of a conspiricy in the government, and he was sitting at home, and his phone rang, then his computer started scanning its own floppy drive, and he was sure it was someone trying to read his computer. Then he ditched his house because the phone call said to stay where he was. Then, when he went to hide outside his home, he saw these two MIB looking people ransack his house. He went on the run and was "maintaining this site" from different hiding places so they wouldn't find him. The wording in the story pointed towards the fact that it was a book promotion, but only if you read it carefully and didn't get swept up in the story. If you know if this site is still up, or if there's info on it anywhere (I remember there was a site debunking it) please let me know. Thank you

It's on Snopes somewhere, but I could not find it because it takes to long.

I think the date may have been May or March 10th. Don't know for sure, however.
