This seems to use some correct references of the Bible to lead people into believong an incorrect passage from the Koran / Quran
Can anyone support this 9:11 passage?
Here is the email i received:
IRAQ - VERY INTERESTING - DID YOU KNOW?
1. The garden of Eden was in Iraq.
2. Mesopotamia, which is now Iraq, was the cradle of civilization!
3. Noah built the ark in Iraq.
4. The Tower of Babel was in Iraq.
5. Abraham was from Ur, which is in Southern Iraq!
6. Isaacs wife Rebekah is from Nahor, which is in Iraq.
7. Jacob met Rachel in Iraq.
8. Jonah preached in Nineveh - which is in Iraq.
9. Assyria, which is in Iraq, conquered the ten tribes of Israel.
10. Amos cried out in Iraq!
11. Babylon, which is in Iraq, destroyed Jerusalem.
12. Daniel was in the lions den in Iraq!
13. The three Hebrew children were in the fire in Iraq (Jesus had been in Iraq) also as the fourth person in the fiery furnace!)
14. Belshazzar, the King of Babylon saw the writing on the wall in Iraq.
15. Nebuchadnezzar, King of Babylon, carried the Jews captive into Iraq.
16. Ezekiel preached in Iraq.
17. The wise men were from Iraq.
18. Peter preached in Iraq.
19. The Empire of Man described in Revelation is called Babylon, which was a city in Iraq!
And you have probably seen this one. Israel is the nation most often mentioned in the Bible. But do you know which nation is second? It is Iraq!
However, that is not the name that is used in the Bible. The names used in the Bible are Babylon, Land of Shinar, and Mesopotamia. The word Mesopotamia means between the two rivers, more exactly between the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers.
The name Iraq, means country with deep roots.
Indeed Iraq is a country with deep roots and is a very significant country in the Bible.
No other nation, except Israel, has more history and prophecy associated it than Iraq.
And also... This is something to think about! Since America is typically represented by an eagle. Saddam should have read up on his Muslim passages...
The following verse is from the Koran, (the Islamic Bible)
Koran (9:11) - For it is written that a son of Arabia would awaken a fearsome Eagle. The wrath of the Eagle would be felt throughout the lands of Allah and lo, while some of the people trembled in despair still more rejoiced; for the wrath of the Eagle cleansed the lands of Allah; and there was peace.
(Note the verse number!) Hmmmmmmm?! God Bless you all Amen !
Snopes says its false. They are always my go-to source.

It is good to know the truth. However, one could only hope that it was true.

VERY INTERESTING - DID YOU KNOW ABOUT THIS HOAX?
'This is something to think about! Since America is typically represented by an eagle. Saddam should have read up on his Muslim passages...

**Summary of the eRumor
A verse in the Koran, which happens to correspond to the date of the Attack on America, predicts that "the wrath of the Eagle" would be felt throughout the lands of Allah.
**The Truth
This is a hoax.
The quote is not from anywhere in the Koran (or Quran).
Chapter 9 verse 11 actually says "But if they repent and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, they are your brethren in faith; and we make the communications clear for a people who know." (M. H. Shakir translation)
***************
Now it's strange that anyone would want us to think that it was prophesied that George Bush would
'cleanse the lands of Allah'! When wanton bloodshed becomes 'cleansing' it is beginning to sound a lot like Hitler talking.... HMMM... food for thought?

The hoax could have been targeted to the american voters. It implies that president bush has unfinished business, and most likely he will be able to lure some undecided voters.

All in the article is true except the verse from the Qu'ran. 9:11. . the only thing i can question is about Noah building the ark in Iraq....at the time before the Great Flood there was just one land mass.....after checking it with old maps, it is possible that Noah did build the ark in the area of present day iraq...

The Verse 9:11 in the Koran, part of this might be a hoax, I couldn't say--however the blog about this being a Election year scam to get votes for President Bush is definately a 'hoax'. I first saw this almost a year ago, shortly after our troops went into Iraq...

My mother sent me the same e-mail, but I decided to look up the information before forwarding this "crap" on to more easily mislead American's. I found through SEVERAL sites, including the Koran itself that the quote is VERY wrong and I think evilly misleading. Why would anyone want us to think that mass murder is OK through any religious text? What have WE become?!

I received the same email. I have confirmed all of 1-19 in the Bible.
As far as Koran (9:11) it is all wrong! Someone out there with nothing better to do needs to do some research in the Koran / Quran before they start sending out emails with false implications! This world is in enough turmoil without the help of people like that!
Can anyone even tell me where in the Koran, does it says,
"For it is written that a son of Arabia would awaken a fearsome Eagle. The wrath of the Eagle would be felt throughout the lands of Allah and lo, while some of the people trembled in despair still more rejoiced; for the wrath of the Eagle cleansed the lands of Allah; and there was peace."

...as if the previous entries weren't enough, there's this:
No Babylonian document has ever been discovered which refers to The "Tower of Babel"...probably didn't exist
"Abraham was from Ur", although Ur is a city the word "Ur" refers to a town or place it is a total vaguery..it may not have any historical tie
"Rebecca is from Nahor" Nahor is Abraham's brother not a City
Assyrians and babylonians conquered the ten tribes of Israel. Not Assyria
This whole thing including the 9:11 verse is
horseshit and waste of time
The 9th Quran refers to repentance known as tauba
it couldn't be farther from the truth

chad- you are an idiot every thing else in that email is true except the koran 9:11 thing. i agree with nik. if you want to find out for your self look it up. you will find that it is all true chad probly just got that bull from athiest sight or from another source that just told him that instead of looking it up for himself. Cunning you say look at what we have become!and that mass killing because of religiouse beliefs is wrong and i definatly agree with you but look what the muslims are doing have been doing through out the course of history. For hundreds of years they have been killing people in the name of their god. their "religoin" is the only one in the history of man that actually says that it is ok for them to kill any one they want, but they call it a "holly war" if you look it up you will find out that what im saying is true and if you think what america is doing is bad. look at what they have been doing for the past 1500 years just because some one disagrees with what they belive. I am a christian and no where in the bible does God say that i can kill any one that i want in his name. true there are many wars in the bible but they take place only after God told them to do so because he knows that if we humans took it in our own hands we would just screw it up like the muslims have, who i remind you again have been killing inocent people through out history in the name of their god. frankly i am glad some body is finally taking a stand against them and saying we are not going to take your crap any more and alow this censlice killing of people to go on any more.

Both the Bible and the Koran are bullshit. Nobody built an ark because there was no flood. Therefore, the email story is a hoax. Are there eagles in Iraq?

The 9:11 verse part is obviously fake, as many people have reported. However, many of the things on the list before it are true, and many of those that aren't definitely true could have been, but there is not enough evidence either way. Then again, there are some that are true...and taken completely out of context, as well.
For example:
Yes, Iraq is in the area that was known historically as Mesopotamia, and it WAS the place where civilization started in the western world...however, Mesopotamia included much more than just Iraq. It covered a LOT more territory than that.
Yes, Peter probably DID preach in Iraq. But Peter preached pretty much EVERYWHERE in the known world at the time. The man had a BIG mouth. And he was loud about his opinions.
The wise men were from Iraq? No one knows WHERE the wise men were supposed to have come from. Scholars are still not SURE - though there are many hypothesis - to this day.
So, while some things on the list are not lies...they ARE somewhat misleading, because not all information is given.
