Hi Having read most of the various coments regarding collecting milk bottle tops I can confirm GHS Recycling is still processing milk bottle tops. Comments regarding quantity are true GHS are able to make this work mainly due to a number of dedicated collectors who organise other collectors and put their small amounts together to make up to 100 Kg and more. GHS then, while doing other 'paid' work, collect the larger quantities making the transport economical. We also have an arangment with Save a Cup who collect vending machine cups and we help each other out with collections. We also have envelopes, and parcels of MBT's delivered daily. All this put together can bring in up to tonne a week and more. We have a part time worker granulating the material so can be sold on and reused as product. If we and the collectors did not do this, the material would end up in landfill and having collected from a major dairy in Portsmouth that would be a multipile of tonnes per week. At present we are only skiming the surface of what is going to landfill. Transport or postage is the major problem. I would like to start a scheme simular to that in America where a major national company that delivers to its stores would bring back the small quantities back to a central point that we could collect from. This would make it totaly economic and generate much larger donations for the charities. Anyone who can help in pushing this idea forward check our web site and contact me, I have the vision, but not the time :-(. I would like to thank all the collectors who have sent material to us for their efforts and assure them that the charities they have nominated have benefited. |

I have been collecting plastic bottle tops, along with all my friends,in order to fund the buying of a wheelchair for a young man with MS.Yesterday, I was told that the target has been achieved and I can't bear to think of all the collecting going to waste! Would anyone out there like to have what we are continuing to save? |

Through various fundraising activities including recycling plastic milk bottle tops enough money was raised for Becky's speech synthesiser. We are now recycling plastic milk bottle tops for a local charity who provide playschemes for special needs children. We use GHS Recycling in Portsmouth - they will pass your contact details on to us if you would like to support our fundraising. |

Recycling is a farce....if they wanted the world cleaned up they would allow all plastics everywhere to be recycled....this is a world of liars and thieves....the only ones who make money are local Fed and state gov......and they are actually stealing from us ......telling us we don't no where or how to recycle all these products...that is a lie......all the way........In the back room they are lining their pockets with our monies..........What a sham!!! |

If you still have any milk bottles and don't know what to do with them then the following address collects them. These will then go towards making hard plastic toys for children, such as slides and other garden toys. They also to to make more bottle tops. Address is: G.H.S. Recycling Ltd, Unit 32, Ackworth Road, Shawcross Ind Park, Hilsea, Portsmouth PO3 5JP. Hope this helps. |

Hi we are collecting plastic milk bottle tops to recycle through GHS Recycling at Portsmouth in aid of the Springboard Project which organises playschemes for children with special needs- if there is a way of getting the milk bottle tops to GHS in Portsmouth (if you contact GHS directly they will know of any local collection points) and if you are happy to support our collection you can ask for the proceeds to be donated to the Springboard Collection. Hope this helps and thanks for considering our appeal. |

I too have been collecting milk bottle tops for a friend to pass on for ages and was concerned this is a scam, but no, it's not.
Go to:

And read all about their recycling of milk bottle tops for any charity. They pay |

I and a number of friends have been collecting plastic bottle tops for guide dogs for the blind but have lost our contact. We are all in the process of being "smothered" by the amount we have. Does anyone out there have a contact anywhere in Northern Ireland where they can be taken to |

Hi, I've been collecting bottle tops for about 6 months now. My friends give theirs to me as well. I have loads. I just want to know where to put them now. I did know but have no memory now. I did write it down but don't know where that is now. Never told noone. Didn't see much point at the time. Who loses their memory. Never heard of that one before. Thought I'd had enough. I,ve got MS. |
