I know they do use pop tabs for needles, in the 1990's they were worth $145 a gallon, i dont know what they are worth now.  |

Soda cans are coated and painted and therefore need a lot of processing to reclaim the aluminum before it can be recycled.
Soda can TABS are pure aluminum (uncoated and unpainted). They can be recycled as is.
Because of this, one pound of soda can tabs is worth far more than one pound of soda cans.
However, to get to one pound, it takes far more tabs than cans. So if you do the math (you only get one tab per can), the can is worth more than the tab.
On the other hand, you don't get any more money for the can if you leave the tab on it, so it actually makes sense to remove the tabs and turn them in seperately. |

Try your local dump or any place that accepts scrap metal. |

i also know that they are worthless, but a local here in greensboro nc where i live is offering to pay 1 minute life support for a young friend of mine who was involved in a car crash. for every 10 tabs saved he is offering to pay 1 minute life support. i would be willing to pay shipping on them if someone would like to give them to me! You and i and him know they are worthless but when you have more money than u know what to do with why not! thanks ryan!! |

Hi,me and my best friend are collecting pop tabs so we can get money instead of asking our parents for money all the time,so we head from a friend that we collect pop tabs so we can give to a hospital so they can melt them down and make wheelchairs out of them,so here are my questions:If you have your tabs can you go to a hospistal and give them in or does it have to be a special sort of hospistal( and no i do not want to donate to the ronald mcdonald place, I prefer a hospital) and How much money is it for about 100 tabs or 5 big pickle jars? Thank you  |
